Only time I've watched a Wilder interview and thought he was the one being real and understated, WTF is up with that guys interviewing style?

All the loyalty talk makes Wilder sound like he's had a number done on him. This is the boxing business where everyone is usually out for themselves you got to look out for yourself and not just blindly trust what people tell you, when you do you get what happened between Tyson and King or when Briggs took a beating from Vitali and didn't get paid. Wilder should think for himself more, he doesn't need all these advisors telling him what to do, he's the champion of the world he should be the ones telling Finkel and Haymon what to do.

When he stuttered on the 3 dollar, minus one dollar analogy and then said the rest of the pot, made him sound like he didn't know the answer to 3 minus 1, lol. It's 2 Deontay, it's 2.

And yes the 50/50 talk is a clear duck. There's no way you can justify him getting 50/50.

This guy is a walking contradiction,he said he doesn’t fight for money because he got enough money,he said he wants to fight the best to prove the world that he is the best,he said he would fight anywhere in the world because that’s what champions do but doesn’t want to fight AJ in the UK,he said there are too many champions in boxing divisions,it should be only 1 champion in every division, they want to know what AJ makes from the DAZN offer but didn’t want to send a contract when they offered AJ 50 mill$...I could keep going on and on but this guy is the biggest ducker in boxing history.

Has never wanted the AJ fight.

Seeing AJ at Wembley vs Wlad got Wilder shook.

I don't understand why these guys duck each other.
Even if they figure they'll get beat. What's so bad about getting knocked out anyway ??? For tens of millions of dollars ! ?
    I just don't understand it.

    Pride I guess.
All the **** they talk, most of them actually believe it, so one can only imagine what that reality check feels like once they hit the floor and the fight is over.

The best part of this at 3:20 - he says if the fight was worth $3 and you gave me $1 he did not know how much is left hahaha. Joker had to say if you gave him the rest.

This is who Hearn has to deal with.

His inability to grab basic math maybe why he turned down the $100 mill.

Wilder: "Al how much is $100 mill?"

Al: "It's less than the $2.1 mill we paid you for Ortiz."

Wilder: What the cheap *******s! No way I'm taking that, ask them for 50/50, how much is 50/50 of $100 mill Al?

    Al: About $10 million Deontay.

Wilder: Thanks Al I knew I could trust you.

Wilder is clearly the bigger draw in the US and has a proven track record there. Whereas AJ's best night against Wlad did about half Wilder's best numbers and AJ's viewership has steadily been declining since that fight. AJ is an unknown in the US and his stock has gone down massively the past year.

Add in the fact that AJ's usually good UK PPV numbers will go through the floor if the fight is on at 4am. Then remember they generate much less revenue than a US PPV anyway.

What was the argument for AJ being worth 50-50 for a fight in the US again?
