No Grant had the balls to step up and fight the man in the division in Lewis, he didn't pick up an easy title vs a weak title holder then hold it hostage refusing offers from the true champion in Lewis like Wilder is doing right now.

Has there been a bigger ducker than Wilder as a WC before?

I know Bowe avoided Lewis like the plague but at least he fought Hollyfield.

Although Grant had bigger cojones, he never accomplished much despite the hype.
Maybe if they could have pulled the same nonsense as they did with Wilder, he might have had a belt for a while, but his lack of punch resistance would probably be too much of an obstacle to overcome even by Haymon and the WBC.
Say what you will about the living windmill, but he would KO Grant within 6.

No, he's more like this generation's HW version of Sven Ottke. He's Grant only in the fact that he's a complete hypejob who was exposed the minute he stepped up to world level, but Grant at least fought legit threats and dared to be great.

    He damn near decapitated Fury

Yes, just like Anthony Joshua is the new Richard Dunn.

Wilder is the most famous boxer in the sport.

Guys who don't even like him can't help but make thread after thread trying to bash him. He's gotten in your heads.

Wilder performed better against Ortiz & Fury than anything Grant ever did. Golota win was okay, tho.

No. Wilder has much better power, speed, reflexes and chin. And much better killer instinct.
