Nigel Benn v Tommy hearns who would win? I feel the response on here would be to lean decisively towards Hearns so I want to ask another question in relation to this one, how many of Hearns opponents at 160 could Benn have beat? You can answer either question and you can throw in Tommy`s 168 opponents also if you prefer.
I think he would do well. He would probably beat Singletary, Sutherland? I don't know. Are we talking about the Nigel who lost to Watson in 1989 or Dewitt whom I think would beat Sutherland decisively? Nigel was better at 168 than 160 I think. More complete. He would lose to Hagler. Shuler was a good fighter.. He could switch and he was tall with a long enough reach 76 inches, some say 78.. Which was not the case. Shuler was rocked by Kinchen and he was hurt with body punches by both Hearns and Kinchen, and knocked out easily by Hearns. i lean towards Benn .Dewitt? Nigel fought an older Dewitt and an older Barkley but I think he would always win. Again the Dewitt who fought Hearns against the Benn who fought Watson is very interesting, and Dewitt did knock down Benn with a nice counter hook. A solid knockdown. Roldan? hell of a fight. Probably Nigel.
I was aiming the question at Benn post Watson, you mention body punching but Hearns body punching was better than any body punching I seen from Benn, he wasn`t really a body puncher, but he did land good counter uppercuts to Eubank`s body in their rematch, he didn`t really throw many body shots against Chris in their first fight at 160 but did floor Chris with a body shot.
