He probably loses all but makes all of them struggle. Starling had some fantastic defensive skills himself and gave everyone he fought a tough (and sometimes dull) fight with his all round abilities.

A really, really good solid fighter but perhaps without the natural brilliance of Ray, Pernell and Floyd which would see him fall a little short. But he more than belongs in the ring with any of hem.

Starling was such a great fighter but I do believe he was not quite in the same league as Ray, Pernell and Floyd. Then again, not many are.

With Starling's style, it is going to be extremely difficult getting his hand raised over house fighters. He'd have to win a ton of rounds just to get a draw and he won't do that against fighters of this ilk.

Here is a fight where Starling showed up to put a whupping on somebody.

1989-02-04 : Lloyd Honeyghan 146½ lbs lost to Marlon Starling 146 lbs by TKO at 1:19 in round 9 of 12
    • WBC Welterweight Title (2nd defense of 2nd reign by Honeyghan)
    Notes
    • The New York Times reported: "Starling dominated Honeyghan from the opening bell. By the time Mills Lane, the referee, ended the fight, Honeyghan was puffy beneath his right eye, had a swollen cheekbone and was bleeding from his nose. He was exhausted and proceeding by sheer determination."
    • Starling landed 202 of 533 punches. Honeyghan connected on just 107 of 697.
    • Honeyghan tested positive for the painkilling drug lidocaine after losing to Starling. Honeyghan was fined $1,500.

has the skillset to beat all three, would love to have seen that. The question is will he apply himself, fight to win?

I remember that fight well. It surprised me. Starling was too strong if anything. I remember how shocked Honeyghan looked in round one when he was hit. It was a bad style for Lloyd, who was a very good fighter and beat Curry legit taking him out of his gameplan. Honeyghan is wild and that worked well with Curry, and with Starling it was a bad style it gave Starling counterpunching possibilities. Lloyd was out of it from the first round on. I think mentally he sort of knew he would lose after round one. Similar to McGirt and Taylor. I do remember one thing. In the postfight interview Starling admitted being hurt, and the punch which hurt him I think was a punch on the top of the head. Honeyghan should have tried to hit him on top of the head more but Starling is a tough guy to hit clean except hitting him after the bell. Hearns broke his jaw in 1981, but that was in sparring. .

I loved Staring but I think he loses to all three. He'd have the best shot against Mayweather.

Leonard is too much for Starling. The other two fights are very winnable for him but I doubt that he would win either of them. Marlon was his own worst enemy while Whitaker and Mayweather were both very good at staying out of their own way.

It is very possible that a Starling vs Mayweather fight at 47 would end up being one of the worst fights of all time

Could of beaten Floyd .Marlon was a excellent boxer and a natural welterweight . Starling would be a tough fight for any welterweight in history.
