    The debate is finally over!

Hagler really was the true winner

based on scoring punches, Hagler won the vast majority of rounds

Leonard only won two rounds; one and six

whilst Hagler won ten of the rounds

so in reality, Hagler while shot, won with ample room in the scoring and is actually 63-2-2

and is the best of the fab four

    here is the evidence

I'm very tired, and when I get home I'm going to bed, so I won't watch the video until Tomorrow, however just from this post It seems like your idea of it being 'fair' is favoured towards Hagler

since the film is slowed considerably providing the final proof, it shows that the fair thing to do was score ten rounds Hags, 2 to leonard and Hagler retains his title

When I first saw the fight, I didnt realize that it wasnt as close as I first thought. I still had Marvin the winner and leonard, although didnt win it, still gave the best overall performance of his career

Just watched it, it never believed Pac fans saying Mayweather won in half slow, the judges can't see it in half speed so why should I Halger however as much as I hate robberies, there's only 3 opinions that matter.
I have no problem with people saying Hagler won tho, just like I don't mind people saying GGG won in the 2nd Canelo fight. And it can be argued that SRL was H2H the worst and actually lost to the other 3
Half speed doesn't mean anything because the judges don't see it half speed

Many of the rounds were close, and the fact is I think had Marvin come out southpaw he would have maybe split the first two rounds and not given Ray a way to get into the fight. Marvin made big mistakes in this fight and the way he took Ray for granted and thought he would have an easy fight shows me he really did not deserve to win. Ray did. He put more into the fight and to me he deserved it at the time, and really a draw now is like a win in regards to the odds of the fight, which I forgot what they were. I would think 4-1 or 3-1, no closer. yet Hagler vs.Hearns closed at 7-5 in favor of Marvin, but I do not recall really the odds to Ray vs. Marvin.. I hate getting older and not remembering like I used to. I scored it for some thread a few months ago, and it was a draw. I think I had my mind set on giving Marvin more credit, and there were many close rounds and really it didn't make much of a difference. A lot of the rounds were however style you liked. However some of the rounds I scored for Ray in 1987 he lost in 2019 on my cards , yet the scores were close. Marvin did best when guys came to him. It woke him up and made him fight for his title. He was a guy who was at this best when he had to fight the old fashioned way for a win.. Not many guys could outfight him. GGG would have lost to Marvin I think rather easily just on style. Some of Marvin's weaknesses were also Duran's. Ray had a blueprint for both. Hearns? Might have had he hurt Hagler more. He had no trouble hitting Marvin, but he couldn't hurt him especially with a broken hand.Yet I stand by what I said that in round 3 Marvin was exhausted and arm weary, and had Hearns had another two rounds in him I think that fight might have turned. But it was such a grueling fight.

You are not really saying the fight was 10 rounds to 2 in favor of Marvin? I didn't see that. Not close. To me Ray won the first two. so that would mean he lost the last 10 rounds? I think he wont round 9.. So that would give him 3 just on that. I had it a draw like I said the last time I scared it in January.

    George,
Don't take any notice of Rooster buddy, he has been bleating about this fight ever since it took place!
I heard he lost a huge amount of cash betting on Hagler and just can't let it go.

It is an illness with him that has turned him into a laughing stock.

Over 13,000 posts and only 168 likes......that should tell you how serious the boxing fraternity take him.

you are not really disputing what the film actually shows are you?

We all knew Marvin won it; we just all thought it was closer than it was

thanks a lot stalker! next thing you know, you'll be handing out my address and phone number

btw, I actually didnt bet on this fight and just prior to it, came down with a flu. ahh the memories!

still, I think this film is very beneficial and long awaited to settle the issue for one of life's most sought after questions - who really won it? and now we know!

The difference is the judges are seeing the fight there and then and can't analyse the replay. You can come at it from many an angle but the fight was very close.

it just shows that many of our judges arent qualified

I like most others scored Marvin the winner but many srl fans always gave credit to the wrong guy

so along comes this guy who painstakingly made this film to settle the issue: who won the fight and by how much?

since the film shows Marvin outscored Leonard in 10/12 rounds, he clearly won and the dispute is finally settled after 30 years even despite the fact he was shorn of his power, speed, reflexes, legs, and hunger

personally, I think Marvin was fighting stricktly from memory

btw, I caught this video from facebook!

the film shows Marvin outscored him 10 rds - 2.

Marvin has whipped the superstars of his decade- Duran, Hearns, & Leonard

Leonard tho losing, has nothing to be ashamed of. He loses only to the best

That's fair enough, but I just don't agree, punch stats aren't everything. I usually score rounds on who did the most consistent work, or if that is equal I have to back ups, more eye catching and who is pressing the action (activity)
That's why in my view Leonard won (eye catching flurries) but it's a very difficult fight to score

That was quite funny, but it was very mean
