It will be the Jacobs fight, 24 rds with GGG made Canelo a better fighter.

I'm a big canelo fan. I was just trolling. You cant blame a 23 yo fighter for losing to mayweather. That's nonsense. Only the fact of being 23 and to fight mayweather deserves big props to canelo.

Now seriously, canelo's best performance? pobably his second fight vs gg. Beautiful fight, deserved victory, very good boxing happening in this ring.

The revisionist 'Canelo deserved the cards he got against Golovkin' narrative some of the 'We love Canelo and/or hate Golovkin' brigade is galling enough but to pretend beating Rocky ****ing Fielding meant anything other than Canelo's bank account is to make a complete mockery of the sport.

Sometimes I think the biggest Canelo fan boys say crap like Fielding was a great or his greatest performance purely to try and distract us from the fact he got two horribly biased decisions and failed a drugs test. It's like they want the absurdity of praising the Fielding fight to be the topic of debate rather than the dodgy scorecards and tests...

Where do you rate Fielding then? I said he seems like a nice bloke but him beating someone even worse in that hapless German doesn't make him anything more than he is which is at best a fairly limited domestic level fighter.

hes not good, but i would still put him in the 10 best in the world at that weight, and canelo beat him like he was a frickin mannequin.
people are aware of the cards in the ggg fights, and quite a few people who saw the 2nd fight, including myself, felt canelo beat ggg. personally, i dont just think he won, i think he beat the dog crap out of ggg.
im in no way surprised at where they are both at right now, i put them right where theyre both at, about 3 years ago. this was back when ggg was beating hagler, and canelo was gonna get iced by his first real mw. canelo right now, is the 99 version of pac, the chavez version of oscar... hes at his physical, mental, and political best.
regardless of how you feel about the way he got here, he is not a fabricated elite, the man can fight.

I've never said he was a fraud he can clearly fight. I've said he's had dodgy cards and failed drugs tests. I don't see how that's in any way controversial.

As for Fielding being a top 10 SMW I don't buy that for a second and if I were feeling charitable enough to rank him that high it would be more of an indictment of the division than a credit to him.

i wont argue fielding, i could be wrong, my knowledge of 168 is limited to a handful of fighters, i just havent seen 10 better fighters than him at that weight.
ive had to evaluate fighters with careers full of dodgy cards and ped controversies, too many to start questioning every single aspect of every single fight because of it. you take what you see and you add what you took. what else are you gonna do?

The fact is he held the belt and Canelo outclassed him like he was Reggie Strickland. It seems to have made Canelo this big puncher who will knock out anyone he faces now. I remember after Leonard stopped Lalonde (on hits on the break), people thought he was this big puncher and Hearns had just fought Kinchen and looked bad, so people thought Ray would stop him in a few rounds when he first hit him. The fact is Hearns took good punches from Ray and other guys normally and his chin was better than people think today, and Leonard was not the huge puncher people thought. He just had a guy in Lalonde who was good, but not on that level.
