Well, there's only one way to resolve that.

Bowe was definitely a very diminished man by that point, and I don't think too much should be drawn from that performance. The first fight, however, is much more telling. A man of Bowe's supposed calibre should have been able to rally back from those initial rough first rounds to take Golota apart. That's what Lennox did to Vitali, despite badly underestimating him and coming in heavy. The fact that Bowe was so completely clueless and ended up taking a career ending beating to a decent but not outstanding boxer only demonstrates how limited he was and what sort of level he was truly operating on throughout most of his career.

Riddick might get even DQ'd with a good ref considering he was hitting Coetzer with low blows and hit Mathis while he was down.
Prime Bowe didn't last too long, avoided other big punchers, and beat poor opposition as champ. Dokes and Ferguson in 1993? Bad legacy fights. Why should we do him any favors ? Jorge Luis Gonzalez was no Klitschko. Riddick took too much punishment to last at the top long. He was somewhat of a lazy guy.

In a one-off hypothetical fight with Klitschko, Bowe will win if he makes it a war, a brawl where he makes WK trade with him and that could happen, yes, if he doesn't get pulled from the fight, and he's going to ship a lot of punches as well. Riddick probably gets dumped on the canvas so he'll have to likely get up to win.

Otherwise prime Wlad who was more assured than earlier Wlad, was a better jabber and bigger puncher than Riddick, and with better defense, better footwork and a better plan, likely beats him. More mature prime WK was a disciplined boxer. 60-40 Wlad.

Yeah the damage he shipped in was unreal. Golota's strategy was just to walk into range and land over and over and Bowe could do nothing to stop him. It exposed Bowe … massively.

At heavyweight, I favour the big jab/overhand right types in H2Hs against the inside mauler types (all things being equal) and I think this is why Lewis cleaned Golota out in mega-quick time; why Bowe ducked Lewis, and why Wlad beats Bowe.

Wlad wasn't better on the inside where Golota done most of his best work. I saw Golota step into Bowe's wheelhouse and throw in combination , throw hooks to body and head , slip and counter and showed an inside game Wlad doesn't have. I saw him bob an weave and show an upper body defense Wlad doesn't have.
Golota was able to go toe-to-toe because Duva trained him to fight up close. Wlad is hopeless up close , he has zero defense up close. He can't slip and dodge Bowe's shots like Golota did.
Wlads defense was to flop his arms all over the place while he tried to hold on for dear life. Even Fury pointed that out on the JRE podcast.

Just because Golota brawled with Bowe in close , doesn't mean Wlad would , or could. The best uppercut Wlad ever landed was on his on face.

Another thing about the Golota fights you turn a blind eye to is the combos thrown by a 245 pound man straight into Bowe's ballsack. As if taking such debilitating blows wouldn't have an effect on his performance. Golota needed those blows when he realized he couldn't keep Bowe off him . Golota threw them to keep Bowe away and and eventually to get out of the fight when he could no longer take it any more.

A faded , on the slide Bowe who under -trained in the first and over -trained in the second , was still able to shatter prime undefeated Golota's mental state , made him quit twice and arguably beat the prime out of him.

Over the two fights Golota had his jaw broke and had a grotesque hole punched through his cheek. He couldn't attend the post fight presser because he had to be taken to hospital. The psychological effects those fights had on him carried over to the Lewis fight which may have caused the nervous meltdown he had in the dressing room.
If Bowe on the slide , without Eddie Futch could do that to Golota , than a prime , switch -on Bowe would have beaten him a lot worse.

Klitschko would never have been able to fight Bowe the way Golota did. That gives Bowe the edge since Klitscho suffered panic worse than Golota under duress , so Bowe would pile it on him without fear of anything coming back.

Thanks for pointing out what the Wlad huggers refuse to aknowledge: Bowe was awfully hard to keep down.

Once he set his mind to go after you, he was like the mummy, keeping up the chase until he got to you and then you better know how to fight on the inside because he would rip your head apart.

Wlad couldn't because he had no chin. H2H, this is one of the worst match up for him.

if the guy been around that long to spar everyone mentioned; I am sure age had something to do with this. Those two hit harder because he didn't have the same strength to stand up to them anymore.

So, you think after knocking Bowe down 5, 6 time Wlad will get tired and quit

Watch the rematch when Wlad was prime.
Brewster also took out Golota, who demolished Bowe, in one.
