Your correct he's 14 with IBF I wouldn't class that as "nowhere near". They do have Helenius in the top ten and I think Schwartz beats him so that's my point basically. It's not a great opponent for Fury but there's worse.

Ferguson was still a journeyman though, I'm aware he beat Mercer and took his place but Jesse Ferguson is still a pretty poor opponent for a fighter of Bowe's caliber.

Maybe he meant top ten in Britain?

I wasn’t talking about organization ratings (Schwartz is near of the top of the WBO, means nothing). Hughie isn’t top ten. He doesn’t have a serious win to his name.

Most certainly a mismatch but all fighters take these sort of keep busy fights.

Doubt it was Fury's choice. He's been paid a fortune and it's those who signed the cheque who will be calling the shots...

Sorry you lost me. If your referring to your own top ten then how would I know who you have. I don't think you understand my point.

Some good examples in here. Maybe I'm being rough on him and he's closer to the level cst thinks he is, but I just think he's terrible, and he certainly hasn't beaten anyone remotely credible yet. Every single fighter example people put above has a bigger win on their record right now than him, even Daniels, Roman, Molina and wepner. Any way you slice it though its a dissapointing choice, I was hoping for someone more interesting like Jennings.

A good stay busy fight until a title shot presents itself even though he just refused a mandated shot at a title.

True mismatch! Schwartz is slow, predictable, doesnt have much pop in his fists, lacks a telling jab, stiff, his chin is ...... and so on ..... .Horrible fighter. His stable mate Kabayel would have been a far better opponent for Fury. A video clip can be seen on xoutube in which Schwartz gets the shorter end of the stick while sparring with Kabayel.Hell, even one of Fury's last victims,Pianeta, had a decent chance to beat Schwartz.Come to think of it even Dimitrenko would provably wipe the floor with Schwartz. For all of you who dont believe me watch his fight (quite entertaining by the way) with Mezencev, a 20 year old greenhorn ,who had only had a handful of fights against some czech no-hopers before he met the german in the ring.On top of that Mezencev is no heavy weight.Schwartz 17-0 then vs a small young russian boy with almost no experience.Enjoy:

Tyson Fury was in a actual high level fight? You mean landing 86 punches in 12 rounds while running from a washed up timid Wlad Klistchko or do you mean landing 84 punches in 12 rounds against the hype job Deontay Wilder?
