I think Jimmy Ellis was a very good boxer, and is often overlooked. A bit too good for Tommy Morrison.

Jimmy Ellis wins by KO or TKO. A washed-up Carl Williams had Morrison in all kinds of trouble. Michael Bentt had him out in 1 round. Ray Mercer almost killed the poor fella. The Ellis who won the WBA tournament should get Morrison out of there too.
Jimmy Ellis...Morrison would get the Bonavena treatment...but Tommy lacked Oscar's whiskers and would get stopped by the talented, sharpshooting Ellis.
Ellis would have to be the favourite for a mid to late round KO or perhaps by UD. Morrison surprising with an early KO is far from impossible either. Morrison was a fascinating boxer. Hell of a puncher. Not only did he have the power to end things with a punch, but he threw some pretty outstanding combontions. Yet his spotty defense exposed a suspect chin, which cost him in a lot of the fights that actually mattered. Also a shame he lost his goddamn mind in the end.

3 times actually...watch the film of that 2nd kd and the follow up..he had Oscar on one knee. But Tommy wouldn't make it up from those kds like Oscar did IMO.
