Taylor vs Baranchyk - Inoue vs Rodriguez

Need to book flights to Glasgow now, have my tickets bought. Went for the cheapest ones but I think they'll be grand

 

The pricing is pretty good considering two main events and for the taylor vs ryan fight i was in level 2 seats 45 pound ones and had a great view

 

I don't understand what is going on. Baranchyk's team have still not said they're fighting, and have said they aren't whenever asked, Burns seems to be the man who is stepping in, yet they sell tickets without addressing it at all....seems very dodgy to me. Lucky there's still Inoue/Rodriguez

 

Pretty sure they want out of the fight, but legally they don't seem to be able to now purses are guaranteed.
If Baranchyk and his team pull out anyway, they'll probably get massacred in court instead of the ring.

 

If Baranchyk can’t be persuaded and they can’t find a suitable replacement for Taylor to fight, isn’t there a chance they will call the whole thing off? As good as Inoue is, he still relatively unknown outside boxing circles so will they risk having him headlining the event?

 

It's going to be Burns, as bad as that fight it is, it'll probably still sell up there

 

Why would they wait 2 months after the card announcement, sell the tickets for the original fights then cancel the event or slip Skippy Burns in as a replacement now?

Both could easily have happened already during the 2 months plus delay in advertising tickets for sale so I think it is a great sign that the tickets are being sold for the original planned fights.

 

i hope so too mate but im still holding off buying flights till i hear something from Barchyks camp

 

They would have to offer refunds if Skippy Burns was called in as a replacement - bit like going to watch Virgil Van Dijk play for Liverpool tonight and finding Neil Razor Ruddock in the line up.

Cannot see them going through all that nonsense unless the original fight was confirmed.

 

Maybe WBSS are saying, 'here, we're doing what we're contractually obliged to do, we expect you to do the same' and putting the ball back in Team Baranchyk's court' if they decline to show up they replace with Burns and sue for damages. Although if they're advertising a fight for a title which may not go ahead the punters may have a case against them also?

Yes they have to offer refunds if the main event is materially changed.

No interest in watching Skippy Burns at all if the main event does not happen.

The WBSS brand will be finished if Skippy Burns suddenly appears as the headline act just because he is Scottish and after yet another cashout purse.

We will know soon enough if this is the beginning of the end for the WBSS.
