I`ve read on a couple of threads involving how good McCallum was and they pointed out that he struggled with slick punchers like Graham, Kalambay and Curry, but looking back at the Graham fighht, it`s clear Mike was a cut above Graham, everytime they stopped and punched Mike outrscored him, it`s just that there wasn`t as much punching because of Graham`s excessive movement, which is why he tired andd flagged towards the end, do fans agree? Was Mike underrated and was Graham overrated by comparison?
Yep a close fight indeed .I was rooting for Bomber ,I knew how good he was but also how tough Mike would be to beat .Quite a bit of Herols problem s I believed were his mental out look in a fight and I just hoped he was confident going in .But he seemed OK ,was just a case of MM being the better fighter on the night .
I agree, and don't think this fight was particularly close at all. Graham had good opening four rounds from memory, but didn't do much of use after that. I also think that the KD looked more like a slip.
I believe if im not mistaken Graham got a point deducted for spinning Mike which proved to be the difference.
That`s what the judges say, but for me Graham was running too much and not punching enough, when Ali moved he was still in punching range so he could counter, McCallum`s counter punching was better than Grahm`s here.
Graham's party trick cost him the draw. Graham would dip under his opponent's view, step in and come up and try to flip his opponent over his shoulder, and rightly lost a point for a potentially very dangerous act.
