This doesnt sound good, McGuigan says he has the same information as all of us, and says that he sees Barchyk moving training to Freddie Roach as "alarm bells". He says regardless of who they are fighting on May 18th they will be fighting for the world title.

 

I will be ****ing fuming if this fight doesn't happen.

 

I've not bought tickets yet. I'm quite sceptical about it all.

That's actually 4 words but I think you get the point, as the biggest name on the card is actually in a unification fight. I would love to see Taylor pummel Baranchyk, but if there has to be a replacement so be it. Doesn't ruin Inoue day one bit.

After listening to that, I will be seeking a refund as certainly not paying to see Virgil Van Dijk (Ivan Baranchyk) and ending up watching a current version of Neil Razor Ruddock (Skippy Burns).

This could be a new low for boxthing if tickets went on sale advertising a fighter that already informed the promoter that he was not fighting on the card.

Even worse than Fury v TBA in my opinion.

So Josh Taylor was interviewed and said he is 90% sure it will be Barchyk, but if it isnt it WONT be Burns.

A bit more positive news, still reckon it could be changed but at least be a highly ranked contender instead.
