Conor was awful against Khabib and I feel it was because of his time out after the Floyd bout, do fans agree?

It could be. It was no doubt the wrong fight to have directly before fighting Khabib though. Nobody thought that Khabib was going to make a boxing match out of it. The Floyd fight in no way prepared him for the Khabib fight. And who knows how much time he spent blowing that money before he got back to his normal routine...if he got back into it at all. Some sort of MMA tune up should have happened. Some ego checking and a smaller fight before goin for it again. The thing is...I believe he would have lost this fight just as badly before the Floyd fight. He really did look decent in the boxing ring though. I know that he was obviously carried the entire fight...however the way he moved around the ring and stayed within the ruleset while fighting someone of Floyd's caliber impressed me. I don't think he's necessarily ruined...he simply was never on the level of Khabib. He could still win a lot of fights. I'm hopin he just doesn't say the hell with this...then blow his money over say the next 7 or 8 years...then come back in need of cash and get destroyed.

He was rusty against Khabib but I believe any version of Conor would lose.

While Conor may have been a little off due to his time away from the cage ,I think his loss to Khabib had more to do with how good Khabib is and not how awful Conor was in that fight.
Nobody has ever been able to even win a round off Khabib apart from Conor and I think in time when Khabib ends up retiring as 1 of the best MMA fighters of all time,Conors performance in that fight may not look so bad

He lost to Khabib because of 3 factors -

He is awful on the ground against elite level fighters.
    His gastank is also awful.
After moving up to 155lbs he is now fighting bigger fighters not midgets like Mendes, Siver etc etc.

Conor had a great run at 145 which was fun to watch but he really is unproven to date as a top fighter at 155 lbs. Yes he beat Alvarez but lets see him fight 3 or 4 top 10 lightweights to see what he can really do above 145. He would probably lose as many as he would win imo.

It definitely won’t have helped to have been out of the cage that long.

His lifestyle is awful too by all accounts.

The other fighters have evolved with game plans etc. Both Aldo and Eddie ran straight in to exchange...Khabib showed to be patient and sit back out of range and counter with hands, and he is a grappler and made Connor look **** in the stand up.

Conor did make enough money for several generations in one fight. Let's be honest. He came into the UFC with hunger and motivation. He blasted most of the competition, had fluid footwork and impressive movement. Pretty sure his lifestyle have changed for the worse - specially for a fighter.

He had a sparring video after the Khabib fight - and didn't look good. Coach Kavanagh posted a sparring video with McGregor before the Mendes fight. Conor had a torn ACL, and still looked way better than he did vs Khabib or the sparring video after the fight. McGregor isn't the same anymore, don't think he'll ever be again.

Not saying any version of McGregor would beat Khabib, but i don't believe the McGregor that showed up in that fight were the best version of him.

100% not the same as he was coming up, MMA was his first passion back then, now hes a huge star with a big bank balance, the hunger has gone. I think Khabib beats him always, just a more competitive fight with a prime CM

I saw a vid with McGregor sparring on the youtube channel TheWeasle and Conor had an injury but theWeasle was saying he was back on form after looking really sloppy in his last training session.

That's the sparring i talked about. This were from before the Mendes fight in 2015, and he had a torn ACL there. You can see in the beginning of the video from TheWeasle a short clip of his recent sparring video on the right side.

His movement and fluidity on the feet seems gone for good.

What do you think of this stuff by Paulie?

Not much tbh. He is just showing the same sparring video we've already seen. Conor came in off balance, got caugt, and went down. Seems more like a case of McGregor being off balance rather than hurt. :)

Paulie likes the attention and his only way getting it is keep mentioning McGregors name. Hopefully we can see a Paulie vs Lobov fight in Bare Knuckle. Paulie should be able to win that one - but he could turn out to be a laughing stock for the ages if he loses.
