Anyone remember it? Stumbled across it the other day for first time in ages & thought it worth a share... Remembering the Viking: This content is protected TIMBERRRRR... Sick left hook! Brutal...
Twas sweeeeeeet God I feel old looking back at this Green was a supposedly live dog He'd not long kod codrington before this iirc
My favorite SMW of the generation and very underrated. He was the goods for sure, skill, speed, and power. Really exciting to watch also. Horrific looking sister who may have been born hus brother.
Was that part of the Super 6? Seems like ages ago. Hell of a KO thats for sure. Kessler was great to watch.
Excellent shot, among the prettiest and most brutal kayos of that year... but my primary takeaway from that fight was that Kessler was looking shaky, and was dropped by Green a few rounds before the KO. This version of Kessler was already shot.
Nope, the Super 6 took a long time but not that long. Green got eliminated before the semi's entering as a replacement going 0-2.
Yes one of my favorites! Kessler had a habit especially later in his career of starting out a little slow maybe because of his many injuries making him a bit stiff. I don't remember him being in problems though apart from the KD in rd 1. From the beginning of rd 3 you could already see where this was going when Kessler found his rythm, and he already had Green buzzed by a left hook that didn't land clean i think in rd 3 too as well as a few other near misses. The left hook was something Jimmy Montoya made him utilize much more as well as the bodywork that won him the fight imo in the first Froch fight. It was interesting watching them work on those things in the gym too. Montoya definitely helped him having some succes later in his career by changing his style as he was no longer as mobile and fast as before due to his many injuries. Kesslers prime was imo all the way back when he fought Andrade in 07 i think it was?
It says something about how good he was at his peak that he had enough coming off the Ward loss to pick up his (IMO) career best win vs Froch.
