Another highly rated amateur comming from the east...This guy is very talented with a combination of speed and power rarely seen. He was 88-1 with 65 KO and was world amateur champion and number one rated in 2015. This content is protected This content is protected
Wow, certainly looks the part and is supremely talented, and I almost did a double take when I saw he was Russian and only 19 years old. Amateurs from Russia and former Soviet countries usually and frustratingly tend to stay in the AM's for too long IMO which really limits their pro careers. And 65 KO's out of 88 wins as an amateur is astonishing. One thing that stands out a lot to me regarding fighters from former Soviet blocc countries compared to western amateurs is the total amount of official amateur matches they take part in. Its seemingly becoming a regular occurrence to see fighters from that area enter the pros with 300-plus official amateur bouts. Its extremely difficult for an American to reach 100 let alone three times that, especially considering smokers have become increasingly rare since the 1960's. Kid looks sharp, thanks for the heads up!
Agree his age is a nice thing going for him since he's far from the finished product (thats the scary part given all the skill he already has) and has all the time on his side to perfect his pro-craft even more!
I have watched if i'm not mistaken the final of european tournament, and in that final he absolutely destroy his opponent! Again, that was in the final.Such a dominant wins in finals and p4p in amateurs is something.I hope he will get big fights soon.
