Does Breazale deserve this shot at Wilder ahead of Whyte?

No he doesn't but he did what he had to, to get that shot. He fought the eliminator that was required which Whyte has never done. Whyte assumed being silver champion was the same as being mandatory or an eliminator but it clearly isn't if the WBC decides it isn't.

But I'm not too upset about Breazeale getting his shot. I've wanted Wilder/Breazeale for a while now, it's not an awful fight, think it will be competitive, just not as competitive as Wilder/Whyte.

Whyte vs Wilder is the better fight. But Breazeale is getting the shot so Whyte should get on with it and retire Ortiz for the mandatory position.

Yeah, that's it in a nutshell. I'd just add it's a shame the WBC didn't have a legit eliminator process to get one of their rare mandatory positions. Dom may well be a legit top 10 HW, but he has yet to even beat a legit top 15 HW to prove it. On the eye test, his raw size, toughness, heart and power more than compensates for his terrible lack of speed and skills. I wouldn't be shocked if he beat Whyte or Miller h2h. Hopefully he'll face some legit top 10 guys after he loses, so we can find out. But I doubt it. Eliminators are where that often happens, and the WBC awarded him a joke eliminator.

Maybe we should start making boxing more fair, the sport is hard enough, if the sanctioning bodies had tighter regulations this **** wouldn't happen.

I am of the minority who like the idea of multiple champions and belts.

Whyte v Wilder would have been way more exciting. To see a 209 pound, lanky man take a few body shots from Dillian... Wilder might cough up his last sermon.

He doesn't, but we all know the WBC always puts up extra roadblocks if they want another mandatory. They put up a set of rules that are hard to accomplish when you're not the one they want in their fight, and a lot easier when you are, because they can always
Whyte should whine about not getting a titleshot for the other belts though, because he got offered the fight outright and multiple eliminators for the mandatory position.

1.Breazeale vs Wilder will most likely be the most competitive fight we see Wilder in bc Breazeale is going to attack him every round so wilders going to have to do something about it( what exactly ,im not sure ?) . Both can reach each other with 6'7 frames and one can take a punch the other cant but has speed. I think the weigh in will say who should win that one.

    2. Whyte vs Wilder wouldn't be a better fight bc Whyte is a bit more savvy then Breazeale so there would be a lot of pausing in between punching. I see this being a real methodical fight ,.not overly a lot of punches thrown.

    3. Joshua vs Wilder isn't really competitive at all...Joshua mops the floor with him in easy fashion.

    4. Ortiz vs Wilder ..similar to how Whyte fight goes except Ortiz is more susceptible to a loss again ,hes not getting better.

    5. Fury vs Wilder . Still a 50 /50 fight here ,hard to really move the goal posts on this one still ...one cant punch...one cant box!!! I rate Fury over him before and after that fight since he won.

Those are the important guys for him (Wilder) . Eack poses different threats to him .

Don't you feel that you are underestimating Wilder chin, he did eat Ortiz best shots, and stayed on his feet man. That commands respect.

    Funniest post of the day.

No person on the planet thinks Whyte and Breazeale are better opponents than Luis Ortiz and Tyson Fury.

Why do I get the distinct impression you say that because Anthony Joshua has fought Whyte and Breazeale ... and Joshua hasn't fought Ortiz and Fury?

You guys get more ridiculous by the day.

Well, he's already scored five knockdowns over Fury and Ortiz. Let's see how many he scores over Breazeale.

If Usyk wins impressively, he's definitely right in the mix. I expect him to beat Takam. Takam really hasn't beaten any names who aren't in their 40s. Takam is the "looks good while losing" type.

I feel for Whyte but Breazeale been sat in mando spot for 2 years. The WBC have made a mess and somebody wasnt going to be happy but Breazeale has been waiting alot longer even though Whyte seems to of put much more work in in the last 18 months. Im looking forward to it, i expect Wilder to knock Breazeale out cold but i love a fight with added beef and this one has loads.

Might be zero if he himself gets knocked out. this is a SERIOUS fight Wilder has on his hands, I can almost tell you Wilder will need a jab control fight ,otherwise he is in a bad spot, and he hasnt really done that yet.

This would be true if Ortiz had caught him early , many of those shots he rushed and wasn't planting himself...the first shot Wilder ran into, if Ortiz had longer reach he would have landed cleaner, the only thing that saved wilder was his height ,not his chin. Technically the bell actually saved him,he never recovered from the first punch fully either until the 9th round.

Wilder is easily stunned with shots,he avoids follow up shots because of ability to use his 6'7 frame ...look at the Molina fight , look at the follow up shots when he rocked Wilder....they all missed. No one has actually attacked Wilder who can punch...Ortiz played an even tempo game and did it ...in spurts.

Breazeale will actually be the first REAL power puncher hes fought so far at top level...lets see how he does here. My guess is not so good if he gets hit cleanly and decides to come in real light again.

Whyte is learning that you don't earn title shots by ducking eliminators.
