evolution is going backwards as much as forwards, i think some people on this forum dont realise that.

Its more of a cycle of expansion/contraction as the environment glacially moves forward in time.

We have 2 types of posters on this website.....

On one hand we have people like George, who give us thoughtful and interesting threads, worthy of discussion.

    Then we have Mark.........

Stop listening to Quora and work things out on your own then come on here. You'll gain more credibility that way. You keep taking the easy rout. If you love this sport put some time into it instead of relying on gimmicks

quora is not bad but its not the answer to all. But its addictive!

    Gets too political too.

    This is a fun thread!

Mark comes on here with the suggestion, that boxers are actually getting better and better - which apparently offends some posters, to the point of almost throwing a hissy fit. Hilarious stuff!

Yahoo Answers used to be great.

I mean it was terrible if you wanted to get questioned answered, but the arguments were legendary.

    .

On my brief forays it only gets political with an onslaught of liberal views...any contrasting conservative viewpoints get shut down. It is not an advocate for an open exchange of ideas and dialogue but rather a propagating machine. At least from what I have seen

Quora is good for scientific questions, among some others.

    Not boxing.

I`ve been watching boxing since 1980 and started reading boxing mags in 1989, the only things that influence my comments about boxing are film studies and logic.

I might suggest that inspite of some potential bright spots it is a horrible research tool. My professors would fail me if I used Wikipedia or Quora in my fact finding research or analysis lol

    Oh yes definitely.

It is a very interesting rabbit hole at times though.

OK, one of my other hobbies Historical European Martial Arts.

In my case I mainly use medieval weaponry and tactics.

When the sport was founded in the late 20th century, they literally had to go back to surviving manuals from the 14th century, and reinvent the wheel!

Do I think that the best medieval weapons practitioners of today, would have have beaten the best of the 14th century?

    Not a chance in hell!

Then make threads based on your observations through watching and reading about fights rather than the fringe boxing fans of Quora. To be honest I would much rather hear your thoughts even if I disagree with some of them than random claims from Quora posters.

What are some of the questions you have or topics that you think of? Those are worth posting
