This is an appalling fight. I need to stress that. And I think Loma wins inside the distance with a nice accurate punch. BUT!! It isn't a bad win for Loma (especially if he can stop him). It's another champion on his résumé, it's a defence of his titles, and if he stops him, it'll prove he is a dangerous puncher as well as a smart fighter as Linares couldn't do it, twice.
No he is not that bad. If any other lightweight was fighting him it would be seen as a competitive fight. Loma is held to a higher standard because of how good he is. It's crazy that a guy like Crolla is seen as a stay busy tune up but that is how good Loma is.
No he isn't. He's one of those guys that had 2 careers almost.. Shaky start but knuckled down & put together a respectable career. I've always viewed him as a solid, durable fringe world level guy.. B level. He's a decent fella, he's earned his stripes.. Apart from Linares he's put together some decent wins... Yordan, Burns, Diaz, Perez, Barrosso etc... For any other LW he'd be a decent opponent but because it's Loma it's viewed as a mismatch.. Good luck to the lad. Again tho, note the size disparity at LW for Loma!
Crolla would be the second best win for Tank and the best for Lopez, for perspective He's a solid top 10 type but Loma is just on another level
The size difference makes it interesting, and Crolla has nice clean boxing, very enjoyable, and will be a treat to watch.
Good luck to Crolla I think he’ll try and put a shift in until the gulf in class shows probably mid rounds and a stoppage around the 6th round probably via body shot or ref waving it off Crolla won’t let himself get mugged off that’s for sure
