I can't help myself. Foreman version of Morrison and Schmeling II version of Louis. How does this play out?
Tommy catches the slow starting Joe Louis, and belts him out. If he fails to catch him early , Morrison goes down in 4. Tommy is fast out of the gates, but of course Joe will get to that chin in short order. I think Tommy pulls this out though, at least the first match.
Im sorry, i see votes for Tommy and, therefore, im in disgust. HOW DOES TOMMY WIN? At best i could see it being a Bentt situation where Morrison hurts Louis early, gets over confident, and Louis plants 30 right crosses into his chin
It's sad how many folks who weren't in the scene in the 90's don't realize what a fraud Tommy was. He was taken seriously by NO ONE in the know. He was a white powerpuncher propped up to be a moneymaker and that's it. A total show pony. Had he not lived the lifestyle he did, perhaps he could have been a legit contender. In reality, he might make the Top 30 heavyweights of the 1990's and he might not.
His wins over Foreman and Ruddock are legitimate (not really impressive, but legitimate), though I'd have to admit he's mostly a cash cow. Very flashy combos with punching power sells. Dunno if I'd have written that "white" part though, considering recent events on a certain now-deleted Marciano thread Mods might be looking for ANY reason
I read an article about him discussing his steroid use. I’m becoming more convinced that because of how mediocre he was on them, without them he’d simply be a decent journeyman with a good left hook.
Frankly, the more I watch the Foreman fight, the more I think George deserved, at the very least, a draw. The 1996 Ruddock was a non-entity. That win has zero cred.
