From the 'How will Venum gloves affect Lomachenko's performance?' thread earlier tonight Bad idea to change brands, especially with his history of hand problems and tonight being his first fight at 135 where he was able to fire on all cylinders. Fought from the second round onward with a badly injured shoulder against Linares and the injury had obviously not healed fully when he fought Pedraza hence why he wasn't throwing his right hook, right uppercut much at all. They really should've taken that into consideration but Venum obviously paid him very well to wear their gloves.
Well said, and Venum just got into the boxing scene they've always been more of a Thai Boxing and MMA brand, definitely not a good idea to leave an established boxing brand like Rival for a newcomer especially if you have hand issues.
The alarm bells started ringing as soon as another poster said they don't offer the best protection from injury. I hope he reverts back to Rival but I suspect Venum might make him a custom pair for his next fight.
not too surprising, he put everything behind a shot at an immobile, unprotected cranium. theres some fragile bones in your hands, and theres some hard heads out there. i still got crooked fingers from some of them.
A little off-topic, how popular 'Winning' boxing gloves in USA ? I mean, I have tried it before and it's probably the best gloves I've used in my life. It's comfortable and I feel like it really brings the best of me.
Very highly acclaimed in the USA. I think even Floyd Mayweather would use them over anything if he wasn't paid by Grant.
