I missed the first 3 rounds but I had SD winning the vast majority of the rounds I did see. Culcay has always been a quality operator though (World amateur gold medalist, European silver, lost close fights in the pros to Boo Boo and Sulecki) and is a tough and talented. Culcay pushed him hard the whole way though.

I wonder if SD might have hurt his ankle or something in that round before Culcay cuffed him to the canvas with that punch that sailed behind his head because his balance didn't look too good a number of times after that round.

It would have been a draw on one of the scorecards too if Culcay won the last round; but he didn't it was a clear Derev round.

I think Culcay won the first three rounds clearly. He still didn't do enough to beat Derev.

I actually think Quillin's going to do a demolition job on him, and stop him, so clearly I tend to side with your theory

A prime Quillin would have destroyed him, not that a prime Quillin was that good anyways. I don't know how much Quillin has left, I'm 50/50 on this.

Just to make it clear: Derevyanchenko definitely won here, but mostly because he outworked Culcay, who noticeably ran out of gas mid rounds.
