After Loma's recent with against Crolla it made me think about Linares. Obviously he suffered a pretty bad loss to Pablo Cesar Cano and I do think he would be more effective down at 135 (admittedly I'm not sure whether he went to 140 because he was struggling to make the weight so please do correct me if that was the case). But what steps do you think he should take, stay at 140, or come down back to 135 and see if he can fight someone like Commey, a rematch with Loma or any of the other fighters down there?

Ryan Garcia vs Linares. Up and comer vs old veteran on his way out.

Linares is like 0-4 against Mexican boxers. Odds favors Garcia IMO.

Is it even possible to have 50 fights under at those weights with only 4 Mexicans on your resume? Lol

We all knew he had a poppable chin and I had been calling this bet for several fights now. It was only a matter of time before the lapse in concentration.

Depends on what weight, at 140 he needs to abort mission immediately. At 135, I think he's still very competitive, although any guy that really goes after opponents can gut check him and has a chance with him.

    R. Garcia isn't a real mexican. Born and raised American. Never was and never will be a real Mexican.

Linares was pretty clear that he went to 140lbs because 135lbs was too tough to make. He would only boil down his body for a Loma rematch (which clearly isn't happening now). His body is too small for 140lbs though. Cano dwarfed him.

So what options? Think he could make a good return fight for Mikey Garcia as he dips back to 140lbs. Not an overly big guy. Ditto Regis Prograis.

Love me some Linares so would rather see him retire, but ill watch anything he does.
