Although not an amateur career like Vasyl. He was still unbeaten, 85 or 90 bouts undefeated depending on sources. 69 ko's with 40 in the first round! He also holds an amateur win over Willie Pep which is arguably a better win than Loma ever had in the amateurs. Mind you with all these evolving boxing posters on here they probably think Willie Pep had a poor defence compared with Anthony Crolla!!
A guy like 'dealt_with' does 2 things: 1. He thinks about other sports that have evolved over time. 2. He looks at the D.O.B. of the fighter in question. The above is completely irrelevant. When looking at a fantasy fight, it doesn't matter in what decade the fighters fought in. All you need to do is to analyse their skill sets, before then looking logically at how you think their styles would have matched up. There's too many ignorant fans on here who believe that even fighters of the recent past wouldn't have been able to have beaten a modern fighter, on the grounds that a sprinter or swimmer from the 80's-90's wouldn't have been able to have beaten a sprinter or swimmer of today. Boxing is a standalone sport which doesn't race against time.
Yes I agree, but Loma's best win is over a past prime good champion (Rigo) who wasn't ever as good as Armstrong
No one can seriously watch fighters from 30/40 year ago like Leonard, Hagler, Duran & Hearns and claim they wouldn’t be the best in their weight division today.
Obviously it's you that lacks understanding of context! So let me lay out facts. 1) Loma lost to Salido. 2) It was Salido's size that gave him the advantage over Loma. 3)Prime Robinson was bigger than Salido. 4)Loma has not stepped foot in the ring with a guy like Salido since his loss. Based on these facts and your OP, I asked you if you believe Salido was more skilled than a prime Robinson. Since you believe Loma boxes circles around a prime Robinson. I was not comparing Salido to Robinson. One would think, that someone that lost to a flat footed, face first plodded like Salido, would lose horribly to Robinson.
dealt_with claims he not only been in the boxing ring, but he has multiple advanced university degrees in sports science and has trained world champion athletes before. he has seriously stated this before, and wasnt being ironic. so being stupid is obviously not his only problem, and probably the least concerning thing about him. how embarrassed would you feel if you were loma reading this thread right now?
SRR, who fought at middleweight? And knocked out champions there? And kayoed world-class light heavyweights?
FFS... He dwarfs Loma! But that aside I bet most of u commenting here haven't even watched a single SRR fight either...
LOL; Chenko's going to beat the greatest middleweight of all time, but 5'5 40 y/o Manny is "too big for him."
Don’t you love it when you insult someone’s religion/religious figures, it causes everyone’s pre frontal cortex to completely shut down. Emotions are dominant, we ignore reality, we pretend that mere mortals are gods. The footage is there for all of us to watch, the trends are there for all of us to see. The onus is on the person to argue why SRR would be able to hang with any fighter today, we can see the slow pace and poor skills in his video footage. We can’t just extrapolate and pretend that he would be the same fighter today when he wouldn’t even be in the same weight classes. We have to go by the reality, by what he was. We can watch the footage and see what he was. Let’s take the religious glasses off and be honest. You’re not going to go to boxing fan hell when you die.
Manny is from the same/near era. Manny isn’t particularly skilled but he’d still beat the **** out of SRR.
