That would be very interesting. Personally I’d be tempted to give Ali a 10. Although a suppose a 10 should be absolutely perfect (like Chuvalo never hitting the canvas)
Tyson's chin is top tier. Oliver McCall is the only one I can honestly give a 10 for chin. Dude was never knocked off his feet. I would go with 8.5 to a solid 9. His chin is up there with the best of them. His come forward style made the magnitude of shots he got hit with much more powerful. He never got decked with a single shot nor was he in trouble unless from a cumulative of blows. Tucker, Bonecrusher and Bruno were the only guys who tested that chin with solid single shots that would knock lesser fighters down and maybe even out. Don't get me started with the shots he absorbed from Ruddock...
Definitely not top tier, no. Absorbing good punches sometimes in some fights isn’t good enough. It needs to be consistent. Tyson visited the canvas far too many times for top tier status imo
Ah...Tommy Morrison took them. Frazier would take those all day. It wouldnt even change his expression. He would still be grinning.
Tyson's chin was very solid in that it took a lot of shots/very hard punches to hurt him. I'd give him a solid 8 for his chin. Conversely Tyson's powers of recovery were ordinary in that once he was hurt he was usually done. The Bruno fight aside (and I think he was stunned more than badly hurt there) he never came back in a fight once he was floored/badly hurt to survive let alone win. It's just that it generally took a lot to get him into this state because of the sturdiness of that chin.
OMG! Tommy was floored and Ruddock was past his best, the punch he knocked Dokes out with would have sparked Frazier cold, Frazier was a far better fighter than Ruddock, but Razor had more power than him.
