Huge fan of both of these guys. Matter of fact I picked up more from watching Toney than probably anyone else. That being said I cant remember the last time I went against Dempsey H2H and it wont be now. As slick crafty and tough Toney is Jack is on him and hits too hard for James to hold him at bay all night. Dempsey gets this one.

Well i hope your quest goes well then!

I must watch the Willard bout on July 4th.
I don't understand how peopld can hate Dempsey or not be a fan, even if they feel he's overrated.

Who is the best fighter Dempsey beat, aside of the very questionable cheap shot against Sharkey ? Willard ? Brennan ? Gibbons ? Firpo ? I would say that the versions of Nunn, Williamns, McCallum, Peters, Rahman, Jirov and Holyfield Toney fought were a far better level of competition.

I think the version of Holyfield Tony fought would probably lose to both prime Willard and the version of Johnson Willard beat, and maybe even the version of Willard that Dempsey butchered.

Toney would counter him and make him look silly but likely isnt business enough or aggressive enough when he does connect

Dempsey by stoppage. The intensity of his attack as well as his speed and power would put "Tap Out" or I mean Toney into a defensive posture from the opening Bell. That is blood to sharks. If fight isn't 10 seconds old and he has already been hit harder than anytime in his life "Tap Out " is gonna do what comes natural. He's gonna tap the fuk out .

Jack beat's Toney and hits him harder than hrs ever been hit before. James makes it to the last round but no question that he loses nearly every round ..

I think Tommy Gibbons probably beats Michael Nunn and Mike McCallum.
I think Jess Willard beats Mike McCallum actually.
The Holyfield who fought Toney was shot.
I don't think Toney had a legit win against Rahman.

I think John Ruiz was better than Sam Peter, and probably James Toney's best scalp at heavyweight.
Of course, I allow it as a win only because I'm quite relaxed about the fact he was loaded up on steroids. Officially, the fight is a "NC" because he was busted.

Why? Do you think Toney will faint before the fight begins? KO 1 seems a plausible pick to me
