Then this makes it not a "travesty" or a "robbery," as some are alleging - which is an hysterical (in the true definition of the term) overreaction. It was a close fight that in my opinion could have gone either way.

@f1ght3rz, @Chuck Norris & @Drinquor scored all 12 rounds exactly the same for 115-113 Hogan.

That's looking like a pretty good consensus scorecard.

It's a pity the WBO couldn't appoint judges capable of applying the same level of competence & consistency.

Actually it does, there's no conceivable way the fight can be scored for Munguia, and when that's the case, its a travesty. Hogan clear cut won seven rounds, that's the only possible scenario, and when no route for a Munguia victory can be found..... that's a travesty and a robbery. I went in not being a Munguia hater, and I'm still not, I was one of the first on here to hype the kid, but fair's fair... he lost this match. IB and I had it 117-111 Hogan, and basically everyone else had it 115-113 Hogan. When there's a general consensus among like that and even @IsaL is on board, goddamn..... it's a robbery.:deal:

    A travesty would have been 12-0, 11-1, 10-2 scores.

This was a 7-5 type fight with the crowd swaying the judges to score for the home town fighter.

It's an unfair, biased, or wrong decision. Hardly surprising that the Home town guy gets the benefit of the doubt. It happens in every country. Not travesties.

Travesty means absurd. As long as you can make an argument Munguia won, as weak as the argument may be, its not a travesty.

But it wasn't, it was a wide win for Hogan, even 118-110 wouldn't be stretch. Nothing remotely wrong with @KO KIDD's card either. Let's also get something straight, the goalpost isn't going to get moved here as to what an "acceptable" robbery is, none of them are acceptable. And certainly matches that are now 117-111 and 116-112 aren't on the table and up for discussion.

You can't make the argument he won, though. Are you and Prof being willfully dense here? A fight can be 7-5 and be a much worse robbery (if the 7 rounds in the robbed parties' favor were clear-cut whitewashes, as was the case here for rounds 1-2, 4, and 8-11 for Hogan) than one in which there was a razor-thin winner of all twelve rounds in a shutout.

7-5 will never be a worse robbery than 12-0? That is just ridiclous, can't believe you think like that?

Really if you lost 12-0 when you could have arguably won 12-0 how would you feel?
Compared to lets say you clearly lost 5 round, and thought you clearly won 7... How could you cry too much if you lost 7-5?

Actually, you can - and I did, as the fight was going on live last night:

It is my experience in watching repeated manufactured controversies over "robberies," that 9 times out of 10, they are exactly what we had a here, a close fight that could have gone either way, where a draw also is perfectly reasonable.

Then you have one person or maybe a few who disagree with the official scorecards - which in this case, with the exception of the 116-112 card, were quite reasonable - start hammering away at a decision being a "robbery" or "travesty." This seems particularly common to when an underdog does better than expected.

And then the groupthink mentality begins and only a very few challenge it. Well, I saw this fight live and the decision was absolutely fair. In my view, the right man won. That's my story, and I am sticking to it!!

    LMAO

Corrupt **** Waleska Roldan who had it 116-112 Munguia gave first two rounds to Munguia aswell.

I can't see any possible scenario where Munguia won first two rounds. Sorry, but he's a corrupt ****.

Exactly the sort of nuance I'd expect to sail over your head. :ohno

You have no idea wtf you're talking about, nobody takes anything you say the least bit seriously. I'm literally wasting energy with these keystrokes interacting with a known caricature of a boxing fan.

Pretty much in line with the rest of us...first three (really the whole first half) was super easy to score.
