Amir Khan is the very definition of glass jawed, he's been hurt or dropped by almost everyone who he's shared the ring with that's half-decent. Yes, he has blistering hand speed, an solid back foot game, throws amazing combinations, and has heart. Talent-wise, he's world class, but that one drawback he possesses, it's one hell of a humdinger. His chin isn't just bad, it's transcendentally awful, like journeyman or gate keeper level horrendous.

    Let's see.....

Breidis Prescott KO'd him with the first flush punch that landed.
He was rocked to his core and dropped fairly hard by Willie Limond of all people.
Rachid Drilzane clipped him, causing Khan's glove to ouch in the 7th, yes it was legit.
He got viciously dropped and later badly rocked by Samuel Vargas.
He was dropped and stunned by Julio Diaz.
Dropped three or four times by Danny Garcia and stopped.
    Knocked unconscious by Canelo Alvarez.
Bullied around the ring and beaten up by Lamont Peterson.
Was put on queer street by Chris Algieri of all people, and arguably drew with him.
Was battered from pillar to post by a badly gassed Marcos Maidana, who he should have lost to.

    Oh wait, there's also this.:risas3:

Okay, on to Jorge Linares, he's been stopped 5 times, and of the five times he's been stopped, three of them were from legit KO punches. The other two were TKO's caused from cuts. Now, onto his skillset, it's immaculate, his hand speed and combinations are a thing of beauty. His footwork is splendid, punch placement is next level, all around he's one of the best pure boxers the sport has to offer. But, he also has a drawback, the chin is a little fragile and tends to let him down occasionally. But not as often as it seems.

His stoppage loss against Antonio DeMarco was do damage to his nose, which was practically falling off of his face, and had been for about four rounds. Anyone who holds that TKO against him is kind of a dickhead.
Then there's the match against Sergio Thompson, Sergio jumped on him in the second, swarming him and busted his eyelid open, fight stopped by the doctor.. It was right after his match against DeMarco, clearly he returned too soon.

He got KO'd by Juan Carlos Salgado, who at the time was undefeated heavy-handed very good fighter who cauht him cold in the first, a Jack-Edwards type deal

Recently he got KO'd in the first round by Pablo Cesar Cano, while in theory that should be shameful, but you have to remember Jorge started out as a bantamweight/featherweight. Cano is a huge light welterweight who's competed at welterweight, and is one of the few guys the drop Paulie Malignaggi something Broner couldn't do.

He was dropped by Sotelo and Mitchell, but managed to get back up rally and stop both of them.

And that brings us two Lomachenko. Like with Khan's KO loss the Canelo. No big deal there, although Linares lasted longer, and the KO was far less brutal.

So honestly, aside from Linares being mentally tougher, what is the difference?

Interesting comparison, CST. Didn't Michael Gomez drop Khan too?

I see the similarities in that they're offensively both excellent to watch, defensively susceptible and have records of decent wins alongside bad losses (or nearly losses).
I think Linares is the better of the two, though I am a fan of watching both fight. His chin is better for me and he has better footwork than Khan. Khan's eagerness to get involved in a fight when he doesn't need to costs him at times too (though greatly rewards the spectator). It's a comparison that feels quite obvious now someone else has raised it.

Yep, he did. I forgot all about that one. There's not many top tier fighters you lose track of just how many times they've been down or rocked.:lol:I tend to forget the Drilzane KD as well, because he pops back up from both of them so quickly.

It's in Round 2 for those who want to see it.

One guy gets KO'd it makes you sad, the other guy gets KO'd you laugh your ass off, and then get sad.

I'm in the minority on this board but I have tons of respect for these two fighters. I think Linares is a beauty in the ring. Really I've never seen pure, elegant skills like that.

Essentially Khan and Linares similarity is that they have mental lapses in fights. Linares can be caught cold and stoned in the first two rounds. Khan can mentally check out at any point and leave his chin absolutely on a platter to be crushed.

They both have a bad habit of cooling off at points in the fight and boxing mindlessly despite their immense physical tools and elite skills. They become predictable and unoriginal. The middle of the Mericto Gesta fight was like this. Any Khan fight in the 2H is like this.

But my god, in 1H of a fight these guys can absolutely light you up.

Mainly, Linares has more than one way of fighting, can be aggressive and come-forward but also able to box off the back foot. He uses his speed as a surprise weapon, mixing up his rhythm to maintain the surprise element to his quickness.

Khan boxes like he's being controlled by a kid on a Playstation, mashing the 'X' button to rinse and repeat the same combinations, over and over.

Yes, the biggest difference between them is ring IQ. Khan has boxing learning difficulties.....

    Yes. Khan is much better.

His wins and the way he beat alexander, malignaggi and collazo was something else. Linares doesn’t have anywhere as close to as good performance against similar b-c level fighters.

His win over maidana destroys everything else in linares resume.

He has a much deeper resume in general and would blitz guys like Crolla or Campbell.

He’s also only been stopped by murderous punches, Canelo overhand, Garcia’s swift left hook and Prescott catching him cold when he was underweight.

So i can give him as pass for being stopped by Canelo and Garcia, just as Garcia stopped morales and Canelo is Canelo. Can’t give linares any passes for any of his stoppages.

khan is quicker, linares more skilled.
i think khan hits slightly harder and is in a rush, Linares grinds his opponents down with accuracy and calm skills.
linares cuts easy but has a better chin.

Jorge's ability to throw accurate punches in combinations is levels beyond anything Khan can do technically. Khan's one two whilst coming forward in straight lines is entry level **** in comparison.

Khan also doesn't have glass skin.

Michelle Linares is 10X hotter than Faryal Makhdoom (who gives off tranny vibes). Michelle might be the GOAT boxer wife. I would eat her unwashed ass no problem.
