Schmeling, Louis was smack dab in the middle of his Prime, Ali was clearly the lesser fighter He'd have been 6 years or so before.
Alright George ?I agree with u mate on this ,though I also see Nortons win over Ali as remarkable .Kenny should never have given Ali such a hard time as he did ,just as max should never have beat Joe .
I agree, I didn't mean to diminish Norton's win over Ali, it was excellent and a really neat display of awkwardness in his style
To be fair to Ali I think Norton's style was just a bad matchup for him. As for Louis he underestimated Schmeling, who was nine years older than him and considered past prime, so against the good advice of Jack Blackburn Louis slacked on his training and diet and paid for it on fight night. Joe didn't make that mistake again in the rematch.
