Again you bring up fighters that have no place in this discussion.

Do they have to have big names on a resume to be a big puncher? No.

Do they have to have names to be classed as elite puncher? Yes.

Marciano was an elite puncher, Williams was not.

You tell me daft lad.... In the fight game what's more important, being the mythical hardest puncher and not knocking anyone of note out or being the greatest KO artist who knocked plenty of elite fighters out?

We are dealing with facts and events not woulda, coulda, shoulda.

They both were elite punchers. Such a proposition is possible.

And your terminology is unsurprisingly sloppy. Perhaps you need to learn terms like "finisher",

No, one was a big puncher and the other was an elite punching knockout artist!

If we take the level of their respective opponents' out of the equation, this is true,. I don't think anyone is contending that Marciano couldn't punch.

Larry Holmes onced said Butterbean hit him hardest.
Butterbean has 58 KO wins on his record.
    Elite, methinks.

So what are we getting at here? Liston stated Williams hurt him, Marciano would do the same.

Marciano took 13 rounds to stop 38 years old Walcott, 8 rounds to stop 39/40 years old Moore 24 rounds to stop 33 years old Charles,8 rounds to stop 37 years old Louis, 9 rounds to stop Cokkell,21 rounds to stop Lastarza and he beat all of them by wearing them down.
