I get it you can be an attrition puncher and a power puncher (Frazier and Bonavena come to mind quickly). Those happened to be Rocky’s last two fights as well. Attrition fighters game plan for the long haul...four rounds isn’t very long. I just have never known a fighter to KO at an average of four rounds and be called an attrition puncher (which isn’t an insult just inaccurate) if you know an attrition puncher with a KO percentage below 6 please let me know. Jeffries was an attrition puncher knocking out opponents in 12 yet I’ll see some calling him a power puncher. Some say Shavers hit harder then foreman (couple fighters said that) doesn’t mean I believe them. I don’t think anyone would call Frazier an attrition puncher but it took him longer to KO his opponents.

Pretty impressive that at the age of 19 Williams was already getting comparable results to a prime Marciano.

Give me 5 prime elite fighters that Marciano beat, or is he not an elite puncher either, your entire argument is flawed
Tua is a very good puncher, yet he hasn't KOed any elite fighters

he had charisma in spades but what he lacked (in spades) was evidence of punching power against name fighters.

simple. Not that I would campaign for Morrison but at least knocked out Razor Ruddock pretty spectacularly. He knocked out a lot of the usual suspects too, but everyone was wary of his power.

Shavers knocked out Jimmy Ellis, he knocked out Ken Norton. He nearly knocked out Larry Holmes in a title fight.

This. Marciano was a real good one puncher KO artist, but his true KO potential cane from breaking his opposition down slowly

Give me one prime great fighter Williams beat, doesn't have to be elite.

Marciano proved it and didn't need this mythical what if aura around him.

You know Walcott said Marciano had more one punch power than joe Louis. That’s a pretty strong endorsement.

    A) How can one be "prime" and "great" and not be elite? That makes no sense.

    B) Which prime, elite fighter did Marciano KO?
