I'm no trying to convince you of anything . Charlton Heston coming down from Mount Sinai with irrefutable proof would not alter your dogmatic opinions.

I'll take video footage over a quote from a book any day of the week.

"The first time he put me down ... I thought `Wow, this guy can hit,"' Moore recalled. "They said Marciano was a house wrecker, and he was, but it took him a volley to get the job done. This guy -- one punch."

"He could hurt you, sure, but it was the quantity of his punches. He just had more stamina than anyone else in those days. He was like a bull with gloves"

Caelum Moore, the former light heavyweight champion, was talking about heavy punchers recently. Moore, who fought 215 bouts in a career dating from 1936 to 1965, rated the hardest hitters he faced: Curtis (Hatchet Man) Sheppard; Lloyd Marshall; Yvon Durelle, and Rocky Marciano. In that order.
''Sheppard's was the best single punch I ever got hit with,'' Moore said. ''A right to the jaw. I fell on my face and just did beat the count. I don't know why, but the front of my thighs hurt for a week after that bout. Felt like I got hit with a baseball bat.'' Moore won both his bouts with Sheppard, in 1946 and 1947, by decision.
Moore called Marciano ''a very well-conditioned athlete.''
''His punches wore you down,'' said the former champion. "
    Just for you.

Who is that first quote on, if it's about Durelle we must dismiss it using your logic.

Lets be honest, you dismiss anything out of hand that doesn't suit your adore Marciano agenda! Take a look at the other Sheppard and Marshall picks above Rocky ,when Moore was a young man ,younger than the 39,going on 40 who fought Marciano.

Game Set And Decidedly Match !

I've learnt from the best, YOU!!

That quote proves diddly squat, he merely stated that the Sheppard punch was the hardest single shot he was hit with. That doesn't prove that he hit harder than Marciano, it only states that Moore felt the hardest punch he ever took was off Sheppard.

Walcott specifically stated Marciano was a harder hitter than Louis.

Come on now it's time you gave best, getting a right hammering here......

Fun fact, a mutual sparring partner of Louis and Marciano stated that Marciano hit harder with one punch as well

OK I'll stop the onslaught, so we both now must agree that Louis hit nowhere near as hard as Sheppard. The myth of Louis has been completely shattered!

Leaving the argument for a second but have no idea why some fighters say fighter X who knocked them down and they got up to win was a stronger puncher then the guy that flattened them...makes no sense to me. Same goes for the foreman shavers debate. Heard Holyfield say the heaviest puncher he faced was Foreman a guy he beat but it’s def believable. That would mean shavers hit harder then Tyson foreman Lewis and Bowe if others are to be believed. That’s unfathomable to me. Maybe fighters because of pride or maybe their opponent was just on that night versus an others off night are possibly not so reliable sources. Marciano doesn’t need anyone to justify his power his record does it for him. As does foreman’s or Tyson’s or anyone whom has a high KO percentage. This splitting of hairs amongst forum chatter is strange. Marciano could knock out any man of any weight I think that’s been proven. Only knock on Marciano’s career is he never got to face a killer like a prime Louis Tyson Foreman because they just weren’t around.
