Idk what else the man could have done only one man Charles went the distance and even with Tyson Foreman or LL those men also went the distance with fighters. Some men were former LHWs they went the distance with. I think it’s just hard to picture someone so light doing these things. Which is fine because it’s rare for under 200 pound fighters to be so strong but there are other cases.

Even the greatest swarmers, tend not to stop fighters ranked in the top ten very quickly.

They are quick knockout artists, until they come up against somebody with a bit if world level class, and then they take rounds to do it.

They do however tend to put the best people away inside the distance!

    Hence their high KO%s

I would probably put my money on Sanders to beat Walcott to be honest. Or we can reverse the question and ask how does Wlad do agaimst Johnny Allen or Joey Maxim?

Walcott took advantage of a talent depleted post war era, until the level in the division receded enough for him to be briefly at the top. The championship came to him, not the other way around.

Stop with this next level athlete bull. Wlad and Lennox are hardly anything special in the athletic compartment compared to other athletes from the 50s.

Frazier tried with Foreman. Frazier's left is better than any of Rocky's punches, Foreman would litterally only have to land once, and then he can go all out on him, Marciano has an above average chin (an incredible chin for his size) and no defence. Foreman eats up, so does Liston. Lewis and Wlad both box his ears off, or just go out and blitz him like they did to Golatta and Austin

And yet I'd favour them to beat any champion from the fifties

So, in every other athletic endeavor respective experts agree that the talent level is MUCH higher now than it was in the 1950's (let alone 1970's an 80's).... EXCEPT boxing?

Is that the hill you want to die on?

Yep which is why Marciano knocked Louis in to Bolivian and such, today's fighters would murder the Brown Bomber they are that much advanced.

In terms of greatness, I rank him above Holmes, Liston and Wlad, and below George and Lennox.

But h2h, I think he has trouble beating any of that crew.

Holmes and Liston would be near pick'ems.

I can't see him beating any of the other three.
