    You're too simple.

Yes, you answered his question, but there is a mega difference in GGG fighting Roles and Canelo fighting Chavez.

One fight was in very high demand, the Roles fight is hilarious.

Good point - that was. At least Errol had a plausible reason for fighting him, then.

Chavez sr did it all the time in between big fights.Thomas Hearns in his early thirties had 2 easy tune ups before defeating Virgil Hill. Its up to the fighter and his team not to wear the older fighter out before the big legacy fights. He is one of the Golden gooses of boxing.Lets see what Canelo is doing at 37 years old.

These are diferent times. Fighters only want to fight once, twice, if lucky thrice a year. Not like in the olden days.

I click unignore for a sec and what do I see? Confirmed racist ISAL - thanks @Bustajay for bringing this to the attention of the forum - polluting the thread with his usual nonsense.

Not sure why this topic needs a new daily thread either until its confirmed in which case I'm as happy to **** on this fight as anyone else.

Rolls was on the Canadian national team and won his first rwo matches at the world amature championships before losing to the bronze medalist. He finished his amature career with a 84 and 14 record ranked 12th in the world.Of course against Golovkin it will probably be an easy fight.

I suspect that we're going to have to read between the lines for this one.

There's no way that GGG's team can seriously think Rolls is a worthy opponent. I mean, its obvious.

I have to draw some conclusions from this.

    1) Golovkin really, really wants the Canelo rematch for revenge and doesn't want to screw up his chances by getting injured or (god forbid) losing before then. Given Canelo's last statements it seems that he wants to age GGG some more; I don't know how this is gonna play out. DAZN can't be happy with Rolls as an opponent either, but clearly they will want the Canelo / GGG 3 fight asap.

    2) Possibly this is some kind of (misguided) strategy on Golovkin's side to fight bums until DAZN freaks out and pressures Canelo into the rematch. I really hope that this is not the case; it would be a bad, bad idea.

    3) Golovkin is seriously out of shape? Maybe he let it all hang out over his break and now he's struggling to shed the weight? That would explain why he's taking a soft touch at a higher weight class. I sure hope that its not the case that Rolls makes 164 easily and its GGG that's running in a rubber suit tryng to make weight.

    4) He's going to move up to 168 and wants to acclimatise to the weight? Beats me why he'd do this before the Canelo rematch, but, could be, I guess. Maybe he's tired of Oscar and Ginger's games.

It’s a garbage fight. Bad for boxing. However, GGG was just robbed twice and in between the “losses” his opponent was caught cheating. “Boxing” railed the guy with no ****...now he’s gonna get 15 million to fight no one. Like I said, bad for boxing but I hardly blame GGG for giving everyone the finger n cashing a fat check. Hopefully it’s someone else though. I didn’t read the posts. Is it official?

Tom L mentioned DAZN wants to appeal to their Canadian market, which I very much doubt this fight does anything to help. Makes you wonder if DAZN are ultimately the shot callers in this deal.

Know what else is funny? The IBF have Rolls ranked higher than GGG in their rankings
