if i was usyks adviser, i would counter with, "for 15 million, we will save your card by putting our undefeated, unified, record on the line against aj", knowing they are short on credible options. oh, and a rematch clause as part of the deal.
losing would not kill usyks hw career, he can claim he was adjusting to the weight and will improve greatly after a few months.

It’s going to be Ortiz, surely. He’s the only decent opponent that I can see taking the fight at this stage. Well, him and Parker, who’s already thrown his hat in the ring I believe.

Not going to happen. It makes little sense, especially from a business standpoint. By putting Usyk vs Joshua on, it would essentially ruin the other fight night.

The Joshua vs Usyk fight will be built properly.

Hearn said today that Ortiz's team don't think it's enough time to prepare for Joshua.

I hope Ortiz takes it, he isn't getting any younger and doesn't have time to wait on the side lines fighting nobodies, nobody is lining up to fight him, this is his best chance of a shot at Joshua, he might not get another offer after this as Joshua will be trying to unify or dealing with mandatories.

    Troll Better.
Obviously he'd want to be in top shape for the biggest night of his pro life. You're post only points to how weak minded you are and you're stuck with your own LOSER MENTALITY. You don't address that and your life will be long and painful

Lennox defended his titles on a 2 week notice against his #1 contender. Name me one other champion that had the balls to do that ??

I'm telling everyone the most sense is Hughie Fury who is due to fight 6 days before AJ and Hughie has no opponent either . This is the fight that makes most sense . Every American HW is silent and not calling the fight or stepping up to it . FFS its MSG! and a foreign Brit with 3 belts and a date but no partner and a huge payday on your own soil .

Remember what people like Dubblechin , MVC and the like are always bragging about USA and Wilder saying you can't come to the US and be fake and not deliver . All I'm seeing is AJ is taking over the eastern US without a fight and every American fighter running for the hills it's like 1812 all over again .

As for Ortiz , well have never heard from him he was all quiet when a fight was needed before Miller and got a little mouth on him when the fight was announced and guess what , still silence on his end . So much for AJ wanting no smoke because all I'm seeing from the US HW is just that all smoke and clout no substance .

Charles Martin is a more noble and dignified American Boxer than the whole rest of them . Breazeale is the only other American HW with an excuse .

That’s my take on it. He may not get another chance. I get that he wants 8 weeks+, but it is what it is.

Unless he’s backing himself to get a title shot down the line...

Not taking a reasonable, ONCE IN A LIFETIME opportunity is a weak mentality.

Turning down 6 million pounds to set your family up is weak mentality

Good luck with your life pal

Why would Usyk and his team, including Hearn, put him in with Joshua at his first fight at Heavyweight and for 1/3 of the money he could earn against Joshua net year? This is a mega fight next year in the UK and deserves more than 17k at MSG. In any case, unless Usyk actually calls out Joshua, wants the fight and shows willingness to step-in it's a moot point and your arguing pointless and irrelevant.
