Usyk needs to build himself into the heavyweight division. It'd be silly to go in straight with the biggest monster in it.

He's building a long term legacy, which is probably more important to him than short-term money. A future fight with AJ in the UK would probably generate much more money anyway.

Everyone ducking AJ thats now Wilder, Fury, Whye, Ortiz and Kownacki in 6 months have turned down career high pays days and chance to be number 1 HW. Is AJ now more feared than Tyson was in his prime?

Looking that way , AJ with 4 belts , huge payday , on away soil in MSG! Isn't that what most HW boxers dream of ? It's showing how little faith managers and promoters have with their fighters against Joshua .

Ping you? How about you just continue to watch boxing and see for yourself  Seriously....it's not like the HW division is so deep that you only get one shot and that's it....

This! I doubt the fighters are scared to fight AJ, but their own management clearly dont have faith in their fighters against AJ. Its embarrassing.

At least Hunter and Charr are showing ambition and want the fight.

True but showing showing ambition and wanting it is not enough tho , they actually got to commit to it . It's really quite frustrating and sad that this is what has become of US HW boxers . Hearn and AJ are trying to keep MSG going for a fight and not even American boxers are going to defend their own turf by the look of it . I feel for all the Americans who have paid good money to see a fight with Britain's best and are being let down by this . Charles Martin is a more dignified and honorable boxer than any other American HW right now .

The way it's going it will be either Parker or Hughie Fury . Ortiz never wants to be in the ring with anything of substance and Kownacki clearly knows he is not ready for AJ and had the courtesy to say no at least .

Usyk stepping in is a cool idea, but I don’t think the promoter or either fighter is interested that fight given the circumstances. Joshua seems to want to fight Usyk after he’s unified. Usyk wants a coupe fights with contenders before he takes on a champion. Hearn wants to make as much money as possible. Kownacki should take this but he knows he’ll lose, can’t blame him for being perceptive. Ortiz is the smartest fight. Hunter’s a good fight but a mistake promotionally- he’ll struggle with the relatively unknown Hunter more than people expect and his U.S. debut will fall flat. It’s gonna be Charr though. Imagine that, Joshua-Charr and Fury-Schwarz, the two top heavyweights fighting two weeks apart. Glorious.

E-Hearn says any HW can get that work and won't be turned down providing they're a viable option and not some Donkey opponent level scrub. Sounds like Ortiz might bottle it too.
