Forget Wilder, Fury and Usyk... those are stand alone large marketable viable career defining fights that should be promoted to death and exploited for every penny. So it is a pipe dream thinking about those guys as 6 week replacements, era has changed.... business is the central focus of today's era.

Focus on every other fighter barrr Whyte, because Whyte will easily get another chance...it's there to be made.

We should all condemn Kownacki and Ortiz who will not get another chance.

 

Strikes me that the OP is so desperate to lay some blame or criticism at Joshua’s feet that he’s warped reality and dispensed with logic to do it.

 

They both did,really. The difference is Lewis knowingly knew it would be to his advantage with experience factor...he was also training for Kirk Johnson a big HW ...Vitali wasn't.

There's bit of sneaky things by Lewis concerning this fight and despite excuses from him ,he basically tried to get one over on Vitali and it backfired and put into question if Lewis was actually the best guy but Lewis gave that answer really ,when he declined rematch when Vitali became his mando 6 months later ( Lewis was not expecting that ), then retiring .

Personally I think Lewis planned it( he said take it or leave it as a last chance) and wanted an unprepared Vitali who at that time was the only guy of same size who posed a threat other then Wlad who had lost to Sanders.

I blame both wilder and fury for a lot of things. Ive praised them for a lot of things, just as Ive praised and blamed Joshua. Its called being objective and calling it like I see it. If Joshua picks a decent contender as a replacement for Miller I will give him nothing but praise. But if he picks some Arreola or Takam type opponent then he deserves the criticism.

 

How about you actually step up and admit the US is a complete sham of a boxing nation with the HW . AJ rolls up stateside and everyone is ducking him .

This is the situation every American boxer dreams of MSG 4 belts and not a single one other than Hunter is willing to fight . Charles Martin and Dominic Breazeale have more integrity than Kownacki , Ortiz and Wilder . AJ was right Americans are all talk and can never back it up . Wilder vs Fury was at the staples center. 17,698 people were in attendance and it seats 21,000 so thats about 84% capacity. Not bad for a guy who "nobody knows" outside of alabama and a fat guy coming off a 2 year layoff from another country.

Clips of wilder vs stiverne 2 went viral with millions of views and hundreds of thousands of shares. His knockout of ortiz also went viral. People know who he is, so why do people try to act like he's a nobody? If he isn't a draw why does Hearn keep trying to get him to sign? Cut the crap.

Aj's success is largely due to the U.K being a much smaller nation and the fans there support their boxers way more than in America. Aj is a gold medalist and groomed from day 1 with great promotion. Boxing has been dead in america for a decade mayweather pretty much single handedly held it afloat and when him and pacquiao stunk up the joint with their boring fight, people had even less faith. No comparison at all, its a lot harder to be a big success in america when you have to compete with basketball, football, hockey, baseball, wrestling, NASCAR, etc. Americans are very fickle and have short attention spans.

Then there's the exchange rate. Aj's numbers look good on paper but they wouldnt be the same in America. Its why he's having his coming out tour here in the 1st place despite saying for years that he doesnt want to. News flash: ONLY HARDCORE FANS KNOW WHO AJ IS IN AMERICA.

The 50 million was a flat rate. They wouldnt give him a percentage because if the fight does more than 100 million. He'll be missing out. Its called knowing your worth. A fact is lennox cleared out his division and ducked no one. Tyson defeated multiple prime heavyweights, many of whom were bigger than him, had belts, some were undefeated. The guys in his era didnt seem to have a hard time making unfications happen. George foreman fought Frazier, Norton, and ali all within a 1 year time frame.

Wilder fury and Joshua are prime undefeated champions and have been active for years. Only 2 of them fought each other but the 3rd man out is the one whose never criticized and its the other 2 guy's faults unifications arent happening. The math doesnt add up.

Again, i blame wilder for some things. I think he should have fought dillian whyte. I give him credit for beating ortiz. I blame Fury for becoming obese and criticize him for leaving the division in ruin. I praise him for his amazibg comeback and getting off the floor against wilder. I praise aj for his gold medal and beatint multiple ranked opponents like whyte and brezeale. His fight with klitschko is in my top 15 favorite heavyweight bouts. Right now im critical of the way he's handled his negotiations.

Vitali was a viable threat and a real prospect even if he wasnt a champion. Charles martin had a belt and he was garbage.

Whatever so called "viral" views Wilder gets AJ has far more views of his general training videos . The current Heavyweight US boxers are a complete sham . It's up to a foreign Brit to sort out MSG ?? How about US boxers actually step up or shut up . 4 belts at MSG , huge payday and the chance to do something and not a single American is willing or able to , says a lot about the US right now , not even US boxers are willing to defend their own soil and some Americans then have the gaul to call UK fighters , gimme a break . Because BOTH Vitali and LL were in training camp but Vitali had a few weeks more than a totally unmotivated and under trained LL who was only going through the motions which is what made the fight so difficult.. Barely pulling through war LL. His 2 loses were knock downs that fighters are allowed to continue through every single week in boxing.

Ll could very easily be undefeated in his whole career which would had annihilated this Rocky BS and I'm white
