i think Ortiz is being led astray to accommodate others agenda here!!!

Just think for a minute......if Ortiz takes his highest payday and wins he becomes the man and is in the drivers seat and can potentially make more in a rematch with AJ OR EVEN WILDER!!!

Taking this fight makes all the sense in the world and it’s what he has been waiting for his whole life!!!

Something is amiss! Politics before boxing I guess!!!

    Bro, WTF????
He's a top 5/8 HW, why would he takes "his biggest payday" OUT OF REAL FIGHT SHAPE????
SERIOUSLY. What he would be doing is giving himself 2/3MAX rounds to take out a true ****ing warrior, Aj is durable and talented and another bad KO loss would spell the end for Ortiz, who still truly believes in himself.

So dumb to advice your fighter to take that level of fighter

It could easily turn into that God who walks on air, forgot his name.

Blow out losses are terrible for fighters the still believe in themselves, that would do nothing but another loss and another legit excuse

6 weeks can be enough time if he has stayed in shape! Also he can ask for some more time. I’m sure they can be flexible given the circumstances.

    Because he’s ****ing old.

He’s not 80 years old like people on this forum say.

    But he is old.

A slightly less than ideal camp is probably better than waiting a few more years for his next shot.

I think it's interesting that Ortiz and his team have been silent on social media. It leads me to suspect that they're working out terms with Joshua right now.

    1. Kownacki bowed out.
    2. Charr went public saying he wants it (won't happen). Ditto Team Chisora/Haye.
    3. Hunter has also posted some stuff on IG saying he wants it.

in this situation you take the fight. His chances are early not later, so why not take the chance?

AJ is a great guy but he's overrated and he will lose to Wilder or Fury. Ortiz definitely has a chance.

Ortiz fought last month he isnt suppose to be in bad shape 6-7 week is plenty of time at his age its not good to have a too long training camp anyway

This. Ortiz is too old and past prime to be giving his opponents any handicaps.

Look at what Hearn is saying. Ortiz is his preferred pick, Adam smith talked it up too.

He's said it will be revealed next week. I'd expect him to milk the preceding period for all the exposure he can get, which the supposed conflict between Jimenez and Ortiz plays into.

Unless Ortiz can't pass a vada test, which maybe they're currently checking or he's contracted such that he can't then he has to take the fight.
