How does Duran do against the best LWs of today? Leonard and Hearns do against todays WWs? Hagler do against the best MWs?
Personally I think that Hagler dominates and KOs all the top Middleweights accept Saunders who losses a UD I like Leonard to KO/TKO all of the top Welterweights at some point and completely outboxes/classes all of them Hearns' jab dominates all of the 147ers and 154ers and I think he KOs litterrally all of them in 4 rounds provided he doesn't get hit hard. Duran I think Dominates LW and would be able to be undisputed champion, taking Loma to points in a very dominant one sided fight. KOes Garcia and Commey and exposes Lopez
Durán vs. Lomachenko is a simply tantalizing proposition; I'm surprised it hasn't been discussed more often by now. Hagler vs. Golovkin is every bit as much a dream, but has been done to death. Crawford, if we're to accept him as the captain of the modern welters team, is really up against it facing a SRL. That's basically someone who does literally everything better than him, except maybe switch-hit. The Hitman would be as mercurial now as then, would probably hold a belt, probably multiple times, would probably carve a path of destruction at 147/154/160/168 but also cop a few losses along the way. The really interesting thing in his case is how does he develop in a vacuum if he was just coming up in the years since Emanuel Steward died (and therefore without his guidance molding him into what he was)?
Well if we are taking late 70s Duran against Loma at 135. Then I dont see any other outcome besides Duran putting a beating on him. Just too much pressure.
I think favoring Durán is reasonable; I don't think saying with absolute 100% conviction that he would run through Loma easily is.
I think the Fab Four would dominate all competition today. But, they would probably shoot themselves in the head due to boredom after realizing that in this era the best fighter almost never fight the best available competition.
Leonard and Hearns Destroy the WW division. Duran Destroys the LW Division. Hagler has some close fights with ggg, canelo, jacobs. probably stops one of em, could take a decision loss.
theyre like the windows 95 of operating systems, were talking windows 10 today. i wouldnt even call what they did back then boxing.
Loma v Duran would be a classic but Loma has proven he beat the greatest lightweight of all time yet, Hearns and Leonard would have their hands full with Spence and Bud. Hagler would struggle with Canelo and Jacobs would also give him trouble, but all 4 handle the rest of those divisions easily. GGG would have had a good chance of beating Hagler but he`s moved up.
