He's decent, has been in the EBU title hunt for years, and his only two losses have come by MD (to Richar Abril, challenging for the WBA title) and SD (losing his EBU title, but immediately avenged to reclaim it). I think I saw him for the first time against Felix Lora, the Dominican-Spaniard high-level journeyman, Tatli nearly became just the second man in 45 bouts to stop Lora; I remember being impressed.
Yeah, within reason, I mean the guy does only have 10 kayos in 33 bouts. If there's any fine porcelain in Teó's chin that has somehow escaped notice until now, it'll be found out for sure. Barring that, it will be more a test of Teó's boxing skills.
He's decent but I have a feeling Teofimo will steamroll this. There's a big difference between European level talent and guy like Lopez.
Helenius is actualky pretty common lastname in finland. Helenius might remind of Hellenism. Rome hellenistic civilication etc.
Teofimo has too much speed and power for this guy. Only question is how tough this kid from Finland is determines how long the fight last.Teofimo is underrated, he throws shots that some opponents can't see and it's those ones that are dangerous and damaging. They come fast, slick and heavy cuz he got it like that. Tatli will find that out early. I am guessing 6 rounds KO.
Gotta remember Gunnar Bärlund who was ranked as 3th best hw at one point. Knocked out Max Baer's brother Buddy. He never challenged for a world title like Mäki but many regard Bärlund as the GOAT Finn.
I would not be surprised if this one goes the distance. Everyone thinks that Lopez is a devastating puncher, and he is, but at the lower levels. As you raise in levels, not only do the skills of your opponents get better, but also their punch resistance. I do not think Lopez is a highly skilled boxer, he does however have a good package of skills and power. However, when the power is negated, I think he will struggle some before eventually winning on points.
I thought Tatli did better vs Abril than Rios did, he just didn't have the clout Brandon did to get favorable (to put it mildly) scorecards.
But was I right about Tatli not being a Finnicized (sp?) name? That's his birth name he took with him from Albania/Kosovo/Yugoslavia, right?
I am pretty sure you are right IB. Certainly not a typical finnish name at all, that much im sure. Edis is pretty liked guy and boxer at finland, I hope all the best for him but Im afraid he will fight too much fire in his heart and will end up in brawl with Teofimo= Game over. Anyhow, lets hope a good fight-
