Khan sent Bud crashing into the ropes with a well timed one-two, Bud responded by grabbing Khan's head and throwing him into the ropes. (not a punch, a grab and throw) Surely you wouldn't deny that happened.

As for the final sequence, I get your theory that Khan was holding onto Bud and it may have affected how low it was. Khan was also moving forward so that could affect it too, but it wasn't a clear case of Khan pulling the neck down like we've seen other fighters do. He was just holding on after missing the jab, after Bud ducked low.

That's ridiculous. A Fighter shouldn't have to tell his corner that he needs 5 minutes after being hit low. THOSE ARE THE RULES. As a trainer, you know full well what's supposed to happen when somebody gets hit low. You're supposed to be given 5 minutes. Even if a fighter is in pain, there's no need to stop the fight within the 5 minutes. That's what the 5 minutes are there for, to give the fighter time to recover. If the fighter is in pain, they let the 5 minutes expire, then if he's still hurt the fight gets stopped automatically. It's not a time where a trainer needs to stop the fight. It's not like during a fight when a guy is getting beaten down. The 5 minutes serve a purpose and it's a fundamental lack of understanding of the purpose of the 5 minutes rule if you believe that Virgil should have stopped it there after asking Khan if he was OK after like a minute. Bottom line, Virgil was way too overprotective of Khan to decide to stop the fight without allowing the full 5 minutes to elapse. He jumped the gun pure and simple.

I’ve never seen Kahn beat so easy. Kahn literally landed 5 clean punches all night wanting to quit after 4 whining like a pu ssy in the corner. He was pulling Crawford’s head down on the low blow.....oh well, then he quit.

Khan did not pull his head down. Crawford voluntarily ducked the Khan jab, slipped it and was countering low. You can make the argument that Khan's forward movement and / or holding with his left glove affected the placement of Bud's shot, but Khan wasn't pulling down on Bud's head causing a regular body shot to be low as we've see in other fights.

Funny, you're using a line that I made famous around here. But what exactly am I in denial about ? I just hate to see a prize fight end so prematurely and controversially.

But, at the same time a very important question still remains: "Did the referee try to rush Khan or was he willing to give him the 5 minutes?"

Clearly he was rushing Khan, and was urging him to get the fight re-started. I didn't hear him ever say "you have 5 minutes, take your time". I don't recall seeing the ref make it clear to Khan that he had 5 minutes.

As much as i have thought khan has showed immense heart in the past, i believe he 100% quit here, Khan has shown heart in previous fights where he has believed he was already winning or could still win the fight, This is the first time he's been dominated and been relatively ineffective, he was taking a slow beating and for the first time he knew the fight was only going down hill from here on. The handful of shots khan landed had no pop on them and were not phasing bud in the slightest. Meanwhile bud was beating him down round by round, khan felt in his heart the end was near. He used the low blow as a way out imo.

If you really could not continue because of an illegal shot, you would be ****ing pissed and demanding a rematch asap.
