Barry was born in Monaghan.

How did he end up representing Northern Ireland?

Was he based there or did he move there when he was young?

 

During his amateur days he moved to a club in Belfast called the holy family so when the option cane up for NI in the commonwealths came up he could go for them easier.

Monaghan is in the republic but is also right on the border and in Ulster so he’d have plenty of relatives just over the border.

The experience and attention of competing in the commonwealth and fighting for the British title was much better than just the Irish too.

I want nothing to do with you Len. I thought I made that clear when you defended MTK despite everything everyone knows about them. Until you can find it in yourself to condemn murderous drug dealers then my opinion on you isn't likely to change. I guess I'm old fashioned when it comes to things like that.

As for Barry have a google and look at all the litigation brought by former friends and colleagues. It's like when people tell me that Frank Warren is a great bloke who's good for boxing. If you think that then good luck to you.
