    Fighting like a wannabe Roy Jones

    Dude has HORRID Defense and not enough power to compete at high level

    I know hes young, but if he dont get rid of his trainer he will go no where. He needs big changes...

    I agree, I am unconvinced Kelly would be able to become a threat at world level at WW.

    He can do it against lower level comp

    But against anyone legit it will cost him

    He already gets hit a lot

    Josh is a cute kid, but he's going to get found out and quick if he doesn't knock it off with his bad impersonation of RJJ and Maravilla Martinez.And deal with his tendency to zone out and coast at various points during his fights.

    Don't see anything too special other than he's a pretty good RJJ / Prince Naseem impersonator. The kid is a KO waiting to happen.

    It's 50/50, I lean Kelly. He doesn't fight like a maniac a la Lejarraga, he won't make those same kind of mistakes.

    This is all based on the assumption that he treats high level comp like the low level comp has has been fighting. Fighters adjust to the occasion.

    You cabt teach an old dog bew tricks. Id bet most anything he doesn't and cant change how he fights, especially in regards to fighting with his hands down and getting by on great athleticism and reflexes. It takes an extremely rare and unique type of talent to succeed at the highest level with the hands down approach. The only guy ive seen recently who can pull it off is Julio Cesar La Cruz, but even still its so risky and against elite competition your bound to get caught, watch La Cruz fight against the American Khalil Coe who caught La Cruz perfectly and slept him. I dont get whats so hard about protecting yourself? It's literally the first thing most kids get taught. I used to have to train holding a towel under my chin with my hands up so id get used to tucking my chin and keeping my hands up.

    The kid has a lot of talent and is very gifted athletically but hes gonna flame out fast at the world level. Hes got twice the athleticism of Avenesyan and probably twice the overall talent but Avenesyan is fundamentally sound and Kelly is a fundamental plane crash. There is a reason fundamentals exist and are labeled "fundamentals."
