I'm going to start this off by saying Canelo is good for boxing. He's clearly not afraid of fighting the best and that's what Boxing needs BUT

He's the most corrupt and protected fighter today, having ridiculous decisions and score cards for example

118-110 in a close fight with GGG
117-111 in a close fight with Lara
118-109 in a close fight with Trout
49-46 to Canelo before he KTFOd Khan
    114-114 against Mayweather

He also has failed two separate tests, both of which before the scheduled May 5th Rematch with GGG. He was only given a 6 month ban which is ridiculous, and far to short a punishment in most's eyes

He also ducked GGG for a few years whilst fighting at 155, and even gave up his title to not face him. He tried to be a weight bully and failed. Imo (and quite a few others) he can't be calling himself Middleweight champion if he doesn't even fight at the Middleweight limit

He does get some disgusting cards in his favor

    But...

Fighters know that. That's why you get the big pay day, and that's exactly why GGG wants a trilogy so bad.

What do you suggest? Ignore him altogether, pretend he's not really the champ? Act like you didn't see him win the fights you think he won , because he failed a drug test? I don't understand what you're wanting.

    Yeah, that's spot on.
People excuse Canelo when they're Mexican and/or when they have a racial agenda against Golovkin.
There's another rare case, and that's when somebody has been beaten by Canelo and wants him to be the best. (Liam Smith is that kind of knob).
One thing to add is that Canelo tried to weaken Fielding with the rehydration clause.

I suggest that they don't religiously defend him. And act as if he can do no wrong
