Kash Ali talked big than resorted to biting and mma to save a humiliating defeat.

Amir khan talked himself up as being at Crawford's level, took a pounding than rather than take 5 mins and lose on his shield said "no mas" to virgil gunter.

Is this a worrying new trend?

On the flip side that polish lad who josh kelly beat showed colossal balls and was trying to win against hopeless odds....equally conor benns opponent...both credits to huge fighting hearts for little pay .

Khan was paid millions.some feel he robbed us

Kash ali seemed to want to avoid a humiliating defeat and preserve his unbeaten record by foul means

Not exclusively a British thing- look at Loma’s last few opponents quitting on their stool.

Boxing has always been a business ultimately but it's becoming an increasingly cynical and contrived business in the US and UK. Used to be just the promoters who were guilty of it but now the fighters are getting in on the act.
Some recent examples - Mikey Garcia a supposed P4P fighter taking a fight with Spence he knew he had no chance of winning and fighting in survival mode from the 1st bell and of course Khan taking the fight with Crawford 'having a go' for a few rounds and then quitting to save himself for the future.

To add to the recent trend, let’s not forget that Price quit against Kuzmin with an “injury” that was questionable. When he explained the retirement further it was clear he was really quitting just to avoid getting knocked out and hurt

Boxing, with DAZN disruption and the race to the States, has gone from seeming in a great place in the UK to being up against it. Retirements haven't helped. Here's hoping Khan retires. Zero interest now.

None of these lads are cowards. It takes massive nads to step through them ropes and fight.

    This.

I absolutely hate it when fighters are labeled that, no matter how good or bad they are or how they won or lost.
    Cowards they are certainly not.

Two incidents is hardly a trend. I think everyone (even including his fans) knew that it was a longshot at best for Khan, and he was probably getting stopped anyway.
But an opportunity presented itself and for me it was some half assed attempt to save a NC or even a remote chance of a DQ.
At the very least it ended the spanking he received.
We've seen this lots of times in the past, as someone like Dirrell comes to mind, so it's not a "British thing" all of a sudden.

Then there's Kash Ali, a guy with obvious temper issues who was losing a fight against the guy that's known for his spectacular KO losses and gassing after 4 rounds.
He had an opening and then suddenly got caught with a big shot, probably ending his chances there and then.
Dragged Price on his way down with him, and then bit him like before because seemingly that's just the type of person he is.
His next fight should just be on probation, but sadly some of the casual viewers at it up so to speak. Comparing the action with Tyson's, while under completely different circumstances.

For me it's just 2 incidents, with two massive underdogs on the virge of defeat doing two completely seperate things. One out of opportunity and one out of frustration/temper.

These lads are businessmen only stepping in the ring for pay per pudding loot - the PPV mugths think they are watching a 50/50 fight when nearly all these PPVs are 80/20 at best

Taking it further Tony Bellew went in the ring with Usyk and Haye twice with Bellew when both clearly knew they were going to be pasted. Both were delighted to take their medicine anyway as there was huge bags of PPV loot extracted from the PPV Mugths.

Pay per pudding money was the only objective for these fighters for these fights - the talk was all bull to reel in the PPV Mugths as usual.
