The carrier pigeon never arrived I take it This really could have ended up badly for Ortiz given his advanced age and severe lack of speed
Ortiz got $500k to fight Wilder which I assume was his highest purse. Miller was reportedly getting $6.5m, do we really believe he was being offered such low ball numbers as was stated. There are more holes in that statement than a block of Swiss cheese. Clear duck, I assume for one of the following reasons: a) he has been promised rematch with Wilder after Breazeale and fancies his chances better than vs Joshua b) Haymon has some kind of contractual block c) he is juiced to the gills and not in position to sign up for immediate VADA testing
Low ball offers? Well that is nonsense. Eddie can't be messing around with low ball offers because he has limited options. And let's be honest here...low ball offers in a fight with AJ aren't particularly low. These fighters have no excuses if Eddie throws them a few million to fight AJ. They have a chance at belts, a 6 week camp + a few weeks of training beforehand (provided these boxers actually train regularly, they are world class athletes after all) , and they get the biggest payday of their life. NO EXCUSES. Instead he's being bullied by Haymon as usual. He just can't let his Wilder high-guard opponents go can he...old men, fat men, high-guard bums. He's got them all lined up because as we all know by now, Deonkey is ducking AJ. Haymon knows that if he fed Ortiz to AJ he'd get destroyed in a few rounds and that would be one Wilder high-guard bum down and out. No Ortiz rematch and then he'd only be left with Kownacki. Poor old Haymon. This heavyweight division is full of COWARDS and it is an embarrassment to the sport.
Embarrassing from Ortiz or whoever put out that statement for him. I’d love to know how much those offers were.
Will give a young fresh Miller 6 million with a full camp but apparently won’t give old man Ortiz any money for a short notice fight...hmmmmmmm I know who I believe. Juiced up and doesn’t want the fight.
Says they declined it as it was lowball, but then they say they never received a contract? Looks like they knew they wouldn't get through VADA testing. Turning down how many millions when his highest ever payday was 500k vs Wilder? Seems very strange.
We don't know what money was discussed. It wouldn't be surprising if Hearn didn't make a serious attempt to get him.
It does? I learned nothing from this. Some Brit reading Ortiz's post and them rambling about Deontay Wilder and Wilder's fans for 10 minutes? Just some fanboy with a microphone.
he never received a contract offer because as far as we can tell ortiz never accepted the cash offer that was offered if you turn down the cash offer why would hearn then send a contract ? first you accept the cash offer then contracts follow. team ortiz say it was lowball ? i do not know what it was you have to be team ortiz or team hearn to know but i am guessing we will know soon most probably by hearn as he loves the limelight. my guess would be 2 to 4 million usa dollars was the offer to fight joshua that is either 4 times or 8 times more than ortiz has ever earnt if the wilder v ortiz numbers that are on the web are correct. or put your number what you beleive the offer was or what it should have been
