I'm not sure I'm reading your use of "challenge" correctly, but arrogant as I may seem sometimes I know my limitations as well as my strengths and a dispute with you on primary sources is something for which I'm quite ill-equipped.

I never stated that Mike Weaver lifted weights, only that if 2 physiques are similar/comparable, but one was built using boxing training and one was made using weightlifting, the boxing training one will be better in the ring

Frazier gets knocked into the air with an uppercut from Foreman

Everyone: "WOW, look at Foreman's power!"

Sharkey gets kind of blown back by an uppercut from Carnera

Everyone: "Overreaction, clearly a dive"

Sharkey reminds me of Wlad when he got hit by Joshua's uppercut, except with a knockdown

Foreman
1.Wasn't managed by mobsters .
2. Didnt have mobsters hanging out at his training camp prior to the fight
3..Didnt have fights fixed for him.
4.Has never been described as a boxer who didnt punch his weight.
5.Never had his manager confess he fixed dozens of his fights.
6.Never fought an opponent who had his purse withheld for lack of effort.
7.Never had an opponent who had his licence withdrawn after he fought him.
Foreman and Joshua are acknowledged huge punchers .Foreman one of the hardest of all time.
Nobody ranks Carnera in the top 100
Foreman and Joshua's punches can clearly be seen to land clean.
Kind of blown back? He theatrically swoons!

To me, and I may be seeing things here.... but it seems like he hit him with his forearm, like a foreman smash push type of punch. Just doesn't look like a punch lands to me.

Yeah, it's impossible to say from that angle. And the fact that he's already in the process of standing up from his crouch as the punch arrives complicates things further.

Which frame do you see Sharkey going up before the glove reaches him?

The whole debate should have been done away with a long time ago.

If you won't acknowledge that this punch landed, then you have got to the point that you no longer accept the evidence of your own eyes!

Actually, just rewatched and I'm not sure about the timing or whether he was raising up after all, because of the angle.

One minor correction, or possible correction. I think (not sure) Bert Cooper's purse was withheld for refusing to answer the bell in the fourth round with George.

Edit: I guess not. According to this, it looks like he was docked for testing positive for cocaine, rather than quitting. http://fromthevault.hbo.com/holyfieldcooper

A useful little trick you might want try: If you pause a YouTube video and hit the "period" key, it will advance the video one frame for every press of the key. "Comma" does the same in reverse. It doesn't always work when the video is embedded on another site so you might have to click through to YouTube.

I don't know why I didn't think of this before but I'm going to try this now and see what I think...

Oh, **** I forgot this is stream table.

Damn, watching the two back to back really underscores how big a difference film quality can make in perception, at least in mine.

I know, you can also move the streamable curser to go frame by frame with your mouse, and it actually works smoothly.
You can kind of do your own manual slow mo with it too.
