"No matter the money"...it's been stated by multiple guys, on multiple occasions, from multiple promotional orgs, the exact opposite...it is absolutely the money.

    Makes zero sense to me.

He's too old to turn down these opportunities, even if they're not exactly ideal.

Most likely he'll never get a payday like this again before he has to retire.

Only thing that makes sense to me is he knows he'll **** hot and have the fight canceled on him.

Ortiz turns down 5 mil and Wilder turns down 100 mil for four fights.... Ffs Wilder was offered a career best pay day for friggin Breazale and then double that for a four title unification - Ortiz received an initial offer that was ten times his previous best purse.

The money is definitely not the problem in any of those situations.

It's unprecedented people turning this kind of money down, perhaps something of a 'Mayweather effect' has sprouted in boxing, who knows. Speaking of Tyson, with the kind of hype he had behind him going into the berbick fight, earned $1.5million that night (adjusted to 3mil for inflation), and these guys are believing they're worth more than double that. Crazy.

there is no doubt that haymon is an illuminati or other dark figure and he literally has control of his fighters and they can't do something he doesn't approve of.

literally turned down 10x the most he's made in one fight when he is in no place to ask for more.

Clearly it is...per the parties involved. You keep making this a Wilder/Ortiz deal but it's not. Dillian Whyte said this, Fury said this...I can't tell if you're being serious?

Andy Ruiz boxes for PBC. Isn't he in the running, too? (So much for your theory.)

My question is, what happened to Mike Hunter? Hunter is promoted by Hearn. So is Usyk. So is Whyte.

People keep wondering what HAYMON is doing to block Hearn.

What is HEARN doing that all the heavyweights he promotes aren't stepping up and fighting Joshua?

Whyte is the Top contender. HE should be fighting Joshua at MSG. Usyk is the Fighter of the Year. The WBO is ready to rate him #1 at heavyweight. And as a champ all Usyk has to do is petition one of the orgs for an immediate title shot. (They'd give it to him.) And Hunter seemed to have the inside track since Miller failed his test. Where's Hunter? What was he offered by Hearn? Why isn't Hunter being discussed anymore?

Of course a fighter can say "I want two billion to fight and since no one will pay me that the money is the issue" but for it to carry any weight the demands have to be somewhat realistic. When fighters turn down offers that far, far exceed what they've been paid previously you can't say they are being realistic. Clearly this have been the case with Wilder and now Ortiz it seems.

Those were the ones I was referring to - as for Whyte and Fury I don't know what they've been offered (has the AJ camp made a formal offer to Fury?).

I don't get this "previously paid" argument. It's actually becoming illegal for employers in the U.S. to ask you what you previously earned in other roles, because your salary shouldn't be based on what you previously earned, it should be based on how much the current job pays.

    No difference here.

This particular job as Joshua's challenger paid whatever Hearn was going to pay Miller. They based all their financial decisions in this particular promotion on figures that included Miller's cut.

If Ortiz is trying to squeeze out a little more than Miller was going to get to come in and save the show, he can try. But he probably won't get it.

If Hearn is offering substantially less, he can try, but he won't likely find a lot of takers, either.

If offered the fight, I thought Ortiz should take it. But his pay should have NOTHING to do with any of his previous paydays.

Each promotion is its own entity. Every fighter knows Hearn can pay him what he was going to pay Miller. It's already built into this budget.
