Anthony Joshua is offering good money to poor hw's and they arent taking it (not so much poor but limited, old and non hungry), they wont ever have a chance to earn like that again, 1million will be alot then alot of these fighters have ever earned. You get a 50year old in Ortiz whose biggest payday is 10x less than his then the 5million offer on the table, he could retire then, because he aint getting another like that. Pulev the same, old and near retirement, probably got 1 big day from klitchko. Ruiz is young and springy, where does he get a fight worth a million? he's been **** poor most of his career, he gets derailed before the big pay day comes. Whyte cant get a break, he deserves a shot without a doubt, he got offered big money and like a true donut he turned it down. Hes been frozen out, but hes in his prime NOW right NOW, take that rematch or forever rue the day.

It could be that all these contenders who get brave when joshua has a fight planned, when then they cant get the roids out there system quick enough, thats right all of em, everyone is on roids. Miller just was just too thick to time his cycle correctly.

We have alot of great prospects coming through, Hrgovic, Yoka, Ajagaba, Teslenko and many more who **** the current crop of hw's in a few years, yeh they will smash your Ortiz's, Whytes, Pulevs, Ruiz's on the way up with consumate ease, in a few years time the whole hw scene could be unbelievably stacked with Big guys with real talent, there will be no chisoras, david allens loool, no takams, no breazeales, nope they all get dealt emphatically with and retired. So why arent these stupid idiots taking the Joshua money and moving on, its not like they can become a champion if they wait it out, because waiting will come back and bite them on the ass!! it would take them a good 5-10years to make that money.

+ Arslenbek, Dychko and Usyk of course.

Sooner they start putting pressure on the current crop the better. This situation with Wilder et al is worse than Haye messing about for what seemed like years on end.

As much as I like Fury, there's every chance he could win a belt back then retire for some years ... leaving a 'will he or won't he' comeback scenario hanging. Joshua isn't much better having been rested for almost a year. He would have been better off fighting in April and Wembley and be gearing up for his next fight now.

I don't know who the most dumbest ones are, there's a handful but wilder is clearly number 1 and Ortiz a close 2 spot. These two are probably the stupidest fighters ive seen in 30 years plus.

Fury .Whyte and Miller out of the current batch are also worthy names. lol

Keep in mind Fury going from Joshua ties to Wilder for 4/7 million and then Schwartz ?? ( at least he got a ESPN multi deal)

Whyte going from Joshua to Rivas ??? Is limited to U.K fighter based and doesn't have real maneuverability, like Fury.

Miller testing positive forfeiting 6.5 million when he doesn't make even over 200K .

You have to know what’s in the contract: are they offering a one-off for huge money, or does it tie the challenger to a rematch on unfavorable terms if he upsets Joshua? Does it tie him to Hearn and whatever Hearn decides to pay him in the future?

The vast majority it seems. Joyce, Wlad and Fury are the only three it seems bright enough to chew bubble gum and walk at the same time.

Bro, 5 mil is worth it. That is retirement money, something the vast majority in boxing don´t get to.

Regardless of that, they get the chance for a lot of money+ the chance of winning the belts. For a guy like Whyte, who's making big paydays outside of fighting Joshua something like that would be a huge obstacle, but not for the likes of Ortiz, Ruiz and such who probably never see that amount of money in their careers. Certainly Ortiz, who is unlikely to get another voluntary against Wilder with the chance of winning, and with Joshua's lineup (mandatories and big fights) next this was probably the last offer he would get from them too. So not much chance of future titleshots/paydays.
Pulev will probably get another shot because he's mandatory and he has that cut, so good reason for him not to take it.

Depends. Ortiz’s team probably have a promised rematch with Wilder after Breazeale if Wilder’s team can’t make a fight with Joshua or a Fury rematch, and that would leave Ortiz in much better position (should he win) to negotiate huge money to get his own fights with Joshua or Fury. Or maybe they think they can get a Fury fight without having to sign away his future.

Your argument sounds like the old days when Don King controlled the titles — “Well, sign the slave contract anyway because if you don’t you will be frozen out.”

If Hearn is offering a fight with a favorable rematch clause (say 50/50 if Joshua loses), sure. If he’s asking for promotional rights for, say, two defenses (Joshua rematch plus one) at a minimum pre-agreed-upon rate that’s in keeping with the market, sure. But if he wants to own you forever with no promise of what you’ll make for those defenses and a 30-70 split with Joshua for a rematch ... no. Because the fact is they have some bargaining power right now because Joshua needs a credible opponent.

Some (Ortiz) probably know they are going to **** hot too, so they can't take the date.
