A fresh start will do him good. Obviously, he cant change to a large degree at this stage of career but a new environment and perspective may do him good.
That's a good point. He isn't a very successful trainer though, is he? Who has he brought along from nothing to a title? What's his track record?
Sanchez did the same stupid mistake like John David Jackson. He and GGG couldn`t agree about the financial things. Thats nothing new and nothing special. in every business you have times when people follow new paths. it`s ridicolous to talk bad about the others side, when you don`t like the offer. a professional would had said: thank you, it was a nice time, i wish you the best. to make stupid talk in front of the public, thats just not professional. i think Sanchez is a very good trainer and he made till a certain point an outstanding job with ggg, but remember one thing: ggg stepped already as a amateur-superstar in Sanchez`House. Everybody called him "superman" in the first time when he trained in big bear. He didn`t built golovkin from Zero. Golovkin could had trained with the fat aunt Mary, i think he still would had become a champion.
Changing trainers now could be just what Golovkin needs to take some heat off of him fighting in Bum City.
If the new trainer is a good one I'd say he now has a chance against Canelo in the 3rd if they can work on speed and focus more on the amateur style like Kovalev.
GGG doesn't need a trainer. He is his own man. He is a smart fighter, smarter than any trainer out there. The entire idea that trainers have a big impact on fighters success is vastly over-rated. Lets take Charlie Goldman as an example. Goldman trained Rocky Marciano and he received great credit for Marciano's success. However, Charlie Goldman trained hundreds of fighters that never made it. Why?. Because those other fighters didn't have the talent to be successful. Marciano did. Same can be said for Freddy Brown and Whitey Bimstein who were considered top trainers in their day.
Always felt Abel was a big mouth and talked lots of szhit. GGG needs to be stripped down and rebuilt as the two wars with Canelo took a toll on him.
Should've happened after the 1st Canelo fight. Sanchez has absolutely embarased himself with the comments he made last night. GGG brought this guy out of retirement and instead of just moving on like a grown man, this is how you go out?
