FAO: true believers in the supremacy of the heavyweight division. If all three favorites lose...

What is the benchmark for you to say "IB, you're correct, HW is the worst & sucks donkey balls"?

Poll closed May 17, 2019.
  1. 1 member of the "Big Three" losing.

    9.7%
  2. 2 members of the "Big Three" losing.

    35.5%
  3. All members of the "Big Three" losing.

    9.7%
  4. All members of the "Big Three" losing and somebody w/ a dozen losses and/or 45+ y.o. wins a belt.

    22.6%
  5. All of the above could happen and I'd still believe HW is supreme.

    22.6%

    Joshua
    Fury
    Wilder
    Whyte
    Usyk*

This is one of the best top 5 in any division in boxing, easily top 3. Bizarre thread.

I think the perception that the Heavyweight division is shat has come about due to the top 5 just not wanting to fight each other because barring Joshua, they're all trying to hold Hearn to ransom, or are unable to cycle of the PED's in time for June 1st.

There's also the very strong likelihood that they are shitting themselves at the thought of losing to their main rival, or rather, their management team is. Haymon is proving himself to be the shithouse, control freak I always suspected he was '**** my fighters being successful on other platforms, not on my watch'. Do PBC fighters ever fight more than once a year and against anyone who might be a threat, because if they do, I must have missed it.

It's getting to the point where the division needs a serious shake up, i.e. one of the big names losing their belts, such as Fury losing his magical, mythical Lineal belt in the boozer after he's beaten up on Tom Shart. Or Wilder losing to Breazeale or even AJ losing to.........whoever finally grows a pair.

Yeah, the Heavyweight division really does suck arse at the moment.....

I definitely don’t see AJ or Fury losing.

Wilder is always a bit of a wild card, but he shouldn’t lose either.

If 2 lose it would blow my mind. I don’t expect even one loss though.

Barring something random like a freak cut/injury.

"p4p" is just a load of crap so little guys can feel better about themselves.

Comparing heavyweights to other divisions is laughable.
The top heavyweight IS the top fighter in boxing. No ifs and buts.

I think the heavyweight division at the moment is okay. Not great, but not the worst I've known.

What the F have you been smoking????

That's like if I said if Charlie Z beat Canelo, GGG and Danny Jacobs back to back how would you rate the Middleweight division. Absolute **** logic lol.

This is up there with your Hurd vs Lara thread.....

Wake me up when a top 5 p4p guy like Loma, Crawford or Canelo win a heavyweight strap!!!!

All three will win IMO. But if i have to rate an upset order i would say
    1) Ruiz Jr.
    2) Breazeale
    3) Schwarz
But not confident at all in predicting any upset here. I don't think any of those three will lose their fights.

Breazeale too easy to hit, he ate bombs vs. Negron and went life n death with him. Wilders right hand will find the target early, question is how many big shots can Breazeale eat. Do not forget he was dropped by Ugonoh and Mansour. His defense is simply ****. Wilder KO.

Schwarz is just tough and crafty, but lacking boxing skills in general, especially footwork, handspeed, power and output. Fury will EASILY outpoint him for 12 rounds. Schwarz struggled with a bodybuilder in the past and only won by DQ. He has no business in a boxing match with Tyson Fury and unfortunately Schwarz has almost no KO power in his hands. If Schwarz has problems with his stamina he might get stopped late if it's a 12 rounder (not quite sure). Fury UD.

Ruiz Jr. is tough as nails and he can box a bit, has good handspeed and defense but he's too small and lacking power to trouble AJ although i am not entirely sold on AJ's chin. It'll be also interesting to see how he deals with the massive pressure Ruiz is bringing to the table. I don't think AJ has ever fought a pressure fighter. Last pressure fighter he fought was a guy in the amateurs who stopped him. LMAO. Nevertheless i think AJ will break him down late with a ref stoppage after Ruiz eating bombs for many rounds before. Ruiz is vulnerable to the left hook though and AJ has pretty good left hook. Joshua TKO.

I answer that question with a question

If all three Beat Usyk when he moves up, does that make it a strong Division?

Let me make a fairly apt opponent quality analogy....

    If Heavyweight were Welterweight.

Joshua's best wins: Wlad, Sasha, Whyte, Takam, Parker

    • Wlad = Ancient Manny Pacquiao
    • Sasha = Old Lucas Matthysse
    • Whyte = Jessie Vargas
    • Takam = Adrian Granados
    • Parker = Yordenis Ugas

Wilder's best wins: Ortiz, draw with Fury, Stiverne, Duhaupas, Szpilka

    • Ortiz = Old Tim Bradley
    • Draw with Fury = Pre-Bud Jeff Horn
    • Stiverne = Current Adrian Broner
    • Duhaupas = Old Robert Guerrero
    • Szpilka = Thomas Dulorme

Fury's best wins: Wlad, draw with Wilder, Cunningham, Chisora, Hammer

    • Wlad = Ancient Manny Pacquiao
    • Draw with Wilder = Shawn Porter
    • Cunningham = Old Devon Alexander
    • Chisora = Old Hank Lundy
    • Hammer = Abel Ramos

    That's just sad.

OP claims he isn't interested in the HW division, yet has made multiple threads talking about the HW division. Interesting.

I can sort of understand what the OP is saying . The HW division actually has a fair decent crop of guys where upsets and some decent fights could be made . The thing I hate is PBC not allowing fights to happen . This is the problem , some quality fights to be made but absolutely no chance of them being made while PBC are doing what they are doing which is preventing fights happening .

That won't happen, as the OP has pointed out, all the big three will duck Usyk. Obviously.

Joshua, Wilder and Fury would literally KILL all those little guys.
Heavyweight isn't welterweight. There's no meaningfiul comparison.
